I think it is called The Pen Place. It is located on the bottom level of the Crown Center Shopping Center across the street from Hallmark Cards and just south of Union Station. That is the only one I am aware of that is in Kansas City at the moment.

And the end of all our exploring

Will be to arrive where we started

And know the place for the first time. TS Eliot

Went there yesterday. Their website doesn't mention Noodler's, but they do carry it. Nice salesguy, very willing to demonstrate many inks for me, though he was out of a good number of the Noodler's and PR colors I asked to see. He showed me a bunch of inks with great, great patience, and although he didn't let me dip and try them, it was truly helpful to see his toothpick trails. What a luxury! I want a pen store near me! Except, no... that would be dangerous. It was so, so helpful to see PR Midnight Blues and Black Magic Blue (the latter looking really surprisingly purple!) right next to each other.

One weird note: I asked about how much shading an ink offered, and he didn't know what that meant. Am I more of a FP geek than someone who works at an FP store???

Anyway, I bought three bottles of ink there, and unfortunately he did not do a very good job closing the caps when he sold them to me, so the PR Midnight Blues leaked into its own box and then into the plastic bag I was carrying! Fortunately the bag was sound, so there was little damage... and I tightened those puppies REEEEEEAAAALLLLYYY tight before I wrapped them carefully before getting on an airplane this morning.

Anybody who's in KC, I do encourage a visit - just make sure you tighten the caps of any ink you buy there, right away.

I'm quite pleased to report that The Pen Place remains on the lower level of the Crown Center (Hallmark Card owned) shopping center just south of downtown KC. The counter staff aren't particularly knowledgeable from my experience, but as helpful as they know how to be. If you're lucky the handsome fellow who appears to be the owner will be in the store.

They carry a wide variety of pens and a decent selection of ink (Diamine, Noodler's, Waterman, Pelikan, MB, Visconti, etc.), though I'm told they will no longer stock J. Herbin which I find quite sad.

The Pen Place is in Kansas City, Missouri. Probably doesn't change your point. I've found that the store has much more than is shown on their website.

I need to go there soon to get a Visconti converter, plus some Lamy italic nibs. Maybe even ink.

I got my first fountain pen there, a Waterman Laureat when the store was located on the Country Club Plaza (KCMO). Much better location at the Crown Center Shops as far as space considerations.

I just happened upon another pen retailer in the KC area: http://parkvillepen.com/. They specialize in Bexley. It doesn't appear that they have a shop, but do business online.

Unfortunately, Parkville Pen has been closed for several years - since Dennis Bowden passed away. I'm not sure why the web site is still present, but if you look at the Bexley pens shown, none of the newer models appear.

Too bad for the hobby, as Dennis was a highly respected collector and seller.

Kansas city dweller checking in. I frequent the store often (pen place). They have much more in their store than the website leads on. The store was just purchased by a new owner and has undergone some minor changes. The gentlemen working there is always willing to show any ink or pen. They don't carry any vintage items, which is unfortunate. Glad to see I'm not the only one here.

I'm very sorry to hear that.
