Scarce Mabie Todd Swan Visofil VT 340/78 Black & Silver c1937-1942

Offered for sale is a strikingly beautiful pen that is quite hard to find. This is a second generation Visofil with the distinctive “visible barrel” and ingenious Vacumatic style filling system. This is a reasonably large sized pen, measuring 5.2” capped and 4.75” uncapped. The outside cap diameter is 0.5”.

 

The condition of the pen is excellent, with nice crisp imprints, slightly amber but clear visible section and a fully functional filling system (recently restored by Laurence Oldfield). The trim is very nice with just some minor thinning at the top of the clip and on the clip ball.

 

The original #3 nib is a very nice medium/broad semi-flex which is a real pleasure to write with. Hopefully, you can see from the writing sample how much character it will add to your handwriting.
