Bahadur and Dux

I have two pens bought from 'Camera Nation' (FPN member & E-Bay seller), one a DUX 612 and the other a Bahadur 612. Both are hooded nibbed pens, the Dux similar to a slender Hero 100, and the Bahadur is very similar to a Hero 330, though with the barrel end cap of a Hero 331. Neither pan is identical to any Hero pen I've seen (section lengths different, higher quality sac guard etc).

Does anyone know anything of these brands?

Regards

Richard.

I'd guess that the Bahadur comes from India or Pakistan - I had a professor by that name. He said it means "champion" or something similar.

Bahadur means brave in Hindi/Urdu.

One of the great things about FPN is that you can get can find someone to answer nearly any question!

Bahadur is also from Pakistan.

I've grown up using these writing instruments, for almost all my exams till the senior high.

Both Bahadur and Dux are pakistani pen brands. Bahsdur has quite a wide range of products. Bahadur Buddy, Bahadur Blaze, Bahadur Bold, Bahadur Neon and many more. The Dux too is a Pakistani pen brand and has quite a few models.

Both are good pens used mostly by school /College and even Universty level students. Dollar and Eagle are too more Pakistani brands with quite a few models. The Dollar and Eagle are famous for their piston filled and 100% clear demonstrator pens. Dollar also offer Arabic/Urdu Caligraphy pens. Kiku, Oro and Piano are some other Pakistani brands with good sturdy everyday writer pens. The Dollar pens are quite good pens and are most of the time out of stock. I manged to get 10 each of all their models but only after the intervention of the Director Sales of the Dollar Industries in Karachi and that too after more than 6 months wait. Prices in the local market are quite compitive. I manged to get the pens for $1.40 - $1.60 for a pack of ten of each Dollar model.

Does Dux make ink? There is Dux branded ink in China, and It is made in China.

No. I haven't come across Dux branded ink in the local markets. But then, I too haven't come across Chinese made Dux pens.

May be the pens are made in Pakistan and the ink under the same brand name is made in China.

My Bahadur was featured ten or twelve years ago in a weekly P******e quiz (We are not allowed to mention the world's oldest pen website on this forum). It was a hard quiz, but someone eventually found the solution (and won a great prize!). The pen was made in Pakistan.
