Bumping this because I am reading Banville's novel Christine Falls (written under his pen name, Benjamin Black) and there is an early reference to the main character's friend's fountain pen, "a Parker, fat and black and shiny, with a gold nib, no doubt, 22 karat, or more if it was possible..."
