LOL yes, I've cleaned my desk before taking pictures!

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Just bought this desk http://www.afwonline.com/ic280frm.asp?prodno=11307&COMBO1=1401 but it's still in the box. We went shopping for a computer desk for dh and I saw this and fell in love. We are remodeling and the living room, where it will reside, gets very dusty so I will wait til the kitchen and living room have been finished before I unpack it. Can't wait!

Of course you do and most people do. My desk would be neat and tidy before a picture. I clean up my desk when I'm finished using it, but that's a carry over from working in Corporate America. A beautiful desk, even if only to the owner, is worth cleaning up and showing off.

In the interest of full disclosure, here is actually where I write most of my letters. My cat has kindly vacated the tray so I can take a picture. I have no idea who it is on tv at the moment. I tried to clear away the cheetos... I have three other desks but am consigned to this tiny space because the desks are, you know, full.

The pen pocket thing around the cup! Where did you find that?

Hi Ya'll,

Finally got a desk just for writing this last weekend. Have always wanted one with cubbies and little drawers!

I am what one might call a 'crafty' person. At the moment, I only have a small corner of the house. The back room is going to be turned into a guest bedroom / office so I'll be moving a lot of this back there in the next couple months. But for now, this is my workspace:

This is a drafting table a friend gave me. I also have a cheap (plywood, mostly) rolltop. I'd really like a secretary and I've been eyeballing trying to build the one Ana White has plans for.

Nice little workspace you have there Auspice. Is that House of Leaves I spy there among the books?

Thank you Amberleadavis!

Auspice,

That does look like a wonderful little crafting spot. I want one of those too. Instead I just annoy hubby by dragging everything into the dinning room :)

Auspice, is that a drink holder / trash sack holder? I had one when I was crafting. Great stuff.

Yes, it is! My favorite horror novel of all time. I loooove it so.

I... don't know what it is, actually. I've always figured maybe it's to hold a tube sort of thing for paint brushes? Haha.

Very cool. Manhattan Beach is the shiznits. You can walk from Hawthorne all the way to the ocean on the heads of all the techies that live down there now without your feet ever touching the ground.

When I was a kid in Iowa, we firmly believed that if you were Born Again, went to Sunday School, morning and evening church services, prayer meeting mid-week, and never did anything wrong to anybody, that when you died you'd go to Pasadena.

That is not a joke.

Actually, Orson Welles said you go to Paris.

I never thought of it as being a horror novel! But I suppose in a way it is. I've only read it once (it's likely I'll read it a second time after I've bought my own copy). The main thing that lingers in my memory are the journeys the footnotes take the reader on, especially the whole labyrinth passage. I have to confess I ended up getting a little lost (I'm guessing it was the author's intention), but since that section was about a labyrinth I didn't mind too much at all. It's certainly a challenging read.

Orson Welles never lived in Iowa.

Nope, then he was living in Spain, and btw he is buried there.

My little corner of the digital world...

I bought this desk from a friend in Calgary about 10 years ago and I'm finally using it as a desk! It used to be used only for wine glass storage and only odds and ends were stored in the desk section.
