I am trying to locate a pen store in or around Charleston, South Carolina, preferably one with a repair department. Anyone able to help? Thanks.

I was there around Christmas 2006, and I remember a pretty well stocked MB boutique right in the heart of town. I also believe I saw a pen or two in a shop in the arcade attached to the main hotel downtown. Sorry I can't be more helpful than that.

There is an excellent MB boutique on King Street. There is also a Luggage/Pen store (not Altman Luggage) on the main floor of the Charleston Place Hotel that sells Cross, Waterman, Montblanc, and Pelikan. Also, Tidewall art supplies on King Street sells a wide variety of Lamy and Retro 51 pens. Other than that, I don't know of any other pen stores, or anywhere in that area that could repair pens. I hope you enjoy your trip.

Bump.

We just relocated to Charleston. Are there any updates to this list? I'd love to find a good pen store and, if possible, a source of Noodler's inks.

I'm a regular patron of The Barrel and the Nib. Pull up a stool, order a good ink, and make yourself at home.

Bump again, I am visiting Charleston and would like to visit a nice pen store or two.

Thanks for any info,

Keith, I'm pretty sure none of those places exist anymore. I could be wrong about the luggage store, but the Mont Blanc boutique and Tidwell's are definitely out of business. Sorry about that.

There is a Artists' and Craftsmans' Supply on King Street, but I don't know if they sell any fountain pens. Last time I was in there was in my pre-fountain pen days!
