Yup, and paid way way too much. I meant to snipe it but somehow got confused as to which buttons I was pushing. My head was kind of muddled when I did it and I didn't estimate the pounds/dollar conversion well. I also didn't think enough about how much the shipping would be. Before I knew it I had entered a large amount on the eBay site itself. I suppose I could have retracted. On the other hand, I did win the pen :)

I think this is great move by the company and a large step for the breath of fountain pens.

It is my hopes that some die hard Harry Potter fans(both young and old) discovered the niche of fountain pens.

If only we could promote fountain pens in the way that the cheese or milk industry advertises.

"Got Ink?"

"Behold the power of fountain pens!"

Heh. That would be a great commercial! Elaine, I think you will enjoy it enough to make it worth your while. I actually use this pen more than my others (putting in J. Herbin cartridges). Unfortunatley, I found yet ANOTHER one. *sigh* which I am now bidding on. It's really too bad they don't sell them over here at least a bit. I know they would sell. I did get an email from the defunct Stypen website that said they will have their site up soon. They have NBA and Superman models. That kind of fun pen could really be a boon.

It's really nothing new in Europe. You can find a huge quantity of school fountain pens with all children themes you can imagine. There are even NFL and NBA themed school fountain pen. Most anime, comics or kid movie characters have their line. Fountain pens are big business over there.

That's what I mean! I've seen people on other boards looking for them too. You should have!

And I was thinking about it when I saw them, but that was before you guys got crazy about it. Had it not been such a busy vacation, I would have posted about it. :bonk:

Well... next time I'll take a pic of the FP aisle, post it and ask if anyone sees something they want. :eureka:

Denis, do you have a backache or are you just too tall for the camera? :D

Apart from the bay, do you know of any online shops that might sell these?

You can't always get what you want... but if you try sometimes... you just might find... you'll get what you need...

Nope. And believe me I SEARCHED and searched. That's the reason I've been using eBay!

I'm not at all sorry for what I paid either. With the box and badges it's a true collectible. It's also my favorite writer of the four pens so far. They all make my workday brighter, so I figure it was a good buy no matter what! I was just putting them away last night and feeling "happy" about them and I thought, you know, this was just the BEST idea. :D

I don't know if you saw it or not but on the greenboard at pentrace there is a fellow that is going to work with a pen shop to get some of the three single pens (see "my new pen and inks" thread in this section) and sell them at cost as a set. You'll end up with a better deal that way!

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
