Graph paper note books

I'm after graph paper-filled notebooks, with decent paper that will take a fine FP, and am having the devil's own job finding what I'm after.

I don't want squared, like the Moleskine, (they're for the better half, he is very exacting in his requirements!) I want graph, like we used in school, but as a casebound or ring bound notebook, A5 (ish) not an A4 pad (but casebound/r/bound A4 might not be too bad). He wants it for his silver work designs, so wants to schlepp it to class etc without it falling apart.

Rhodia exaclair might be right, but I can't seem to find a UK supplier, only US.

Any thoughts?

thanky'all heaps in anticipation!

Personally, I don't see any alternative to shopping for the paper and designing the graph print myself. I'm planning on going loose-leaf via Rollabind because it holds together like a pad rather than shifting around, but I'm still waiting on the full-size notebook and the punch. I can also pad some together myself.

I've always like the paper that I simulated for this background for engineering. Except the real stuff is 5-per and I drew 4-per to be more computer-ish since I deal with powers of 2.

A long way round Annie might be to download some graph paper templates from www.microsft.com and you can print them on whatever paper you prefer and if you are feeling very posh have them made up at a bookbinders or put into your own ring binder.

I have some graph paper for email using small medium and large squares if this would help

I use quad rule notebooks from miquelrius/paperchase, rhoda, and clairefontaine, in both A4 and A5 sizes, usually spiralbound.

Failing that, you can make your own custom grid pdfs and print them over here.

Cachet Graph Sketchbooks are really nice.

Also for cheap, Mead 5 Star spiral notebooks with graph paper are also good.

I think you can get Black N Red with graph paper too.

I just picked up a cheap ($3-4) Mead Cambridge graph paper book from my local drug store the other day. It has a nice thick cardboard backing, with a somewhat thin paperboard cover. The cover is scored to make it easy to fold over the binding, which is on the top. The sheets are micro perforated, but are pretty solid in the binding, so I haven't had any accidental rips yet. It's a pretty thick paper (20-24lb I think) with no bleed through from my medium nib wet writers, but it does has some show through with dark inks.

Oops, just accidentally used number 1,000 on a thread about music! Sorry, gues that means I keep the pens then?

I think I'm probably going to explore the download and print route, then we get exactly what we want. Called in at our local specialist stationers today, he had nowt! Could have ordered me an A4 casebound for about £10, which I thought was a bit steep, so I passed.

Thanks for the suggestions, people!

Is it that blue non-repro grid? Because that's what I need: a spiral-bound graph paper notebook with the blue grid.

I can't say enough good things about Red 'n Black note books. they come in either hard back or soft back and a whole variety of sizes and

ruled, graphed etc. Durable and FP friendly. There are a LOT of different configurations and an individual site might not carry all of them

so google around a bit.

Its this one. That means fine black lines on the grid that show when copied... Although I think most modern copiers show those lines now no matter the colour.

I used AndyHayes link above and then printed the sheets on some good paper. 100 sheets, double sided, took it to Staples and for $3.75 they bound it in 5 minutes for me. This is definitely gonna see some use in the cruiser!

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
