Does anyone have a photo of a Parker 61 nib (out of the pen) they can post?

Here are a couple of photos of a P51 nib, a P61 nib, and a modified P61 nib (filed to fit a P51).

The arrows point to the three tags on a P61 nib that need to be filed off to get it to fit a P51. Use a needle file, and clean it regularly - gold is soft & clogs the file (it's not often that you'll have a file clogged with gold, I bet, so make the story as good as you can!). Don't use much force, and take your time.

Regards

Richard.

I suspect it'll be amazing when you get it. Best of luck.

That's exactly what I'm thinking of doing, I just bought a 61 with a stub nib. Not sure though, I want to see how well the 61 works before I do that.

Great photos, very exact and practical; you couldn't ask for more.

Hi Richard, Thank you for valuable assistance.

I am now seriously searching for a P51 F or P61 F nib to swap for my steel nib in my 51.

If you succeed, put the P51 nib to one side for a while, to see how the P61 nib goes. After that, if it's good, there are quite a few people who are looking for P51 nibs, and I'm sure it would be snapped up in the classifieds section.

Regards,

Richard
