Diamine Registrar's

Diamine is my favorite brand and after reading several ominous discussions about Registrar's I wanted to see what the fuss was about. I was expecting some fireworks once the nib touched the ink; but nothing. A dip of my finger into the ink produced not even a tingle.

It is very entertaining to use this ink in a medium to wet nib and watch the ink change from a blue to black color in just seconds.

The drying times can be very long when used in a wet writer but very acceptable in finer nibs.

The ink will last as long as the paper it is written on and there are uses and needs for this ink but for a casual user, there is really not much reason to have it. There are other inks with very good water resistance and nothing I write must last for centuries.

Thanks for the review and scan. Wow, expensive stuff. But a nice looking deep blue-black -- I like the color.

Thanks you for the informationa nd the scans in two different pens. I hav had a bottle of this ink sitting on my book shelf unopened for many months. I was afraid that opening the bottle would be followed by a mushroom cloud. I bought it becasue it seems to shade so well but then as I read about iron gall inks on this board I was afraid to put it in any of my pens. I do njot even want to risk my Pilot 78 G b, which I rather like btw. I would be interested in how your pens hold up long term with it.

Some perfums are cheaper than that.... I like the color and properties, off course, but even MB BB and of course, Lamy BB have much more reasonable prices. Nice review, and ink. Thanks for sharing.

I have been using this ink in my Danitrio Mikado and it's an excellent ink BUT I find it dries out somewhat and can be a while starting up again in this pen if left for a few hours or more. Significantly reduced flow noted also.

However a far superior colour to MB Blue-black, much darker.
