Cozumel Blue

Here is a very awsome ink mixture I came up with 3 days ago. Im still in awe of its beauty and have put it into all my pens. It is a fairly wet ink and would be great for a pen that has minor flow issues. The line variation is what truly amazes me, it takes on this crazy mottled look; I actually considered calling it Mötley Blüe because of this. This ink is semi-bulletproof because of the Noodlers luxury blue, and should fluorese under a black light due to the Noodlers blue ghost content. I have not tested the fluoresence aspect of this ink because I don't have a black light. When I mixed the ink I made it in a 50ml batch, but have scaled back the amount in the recipe given so others can test it out without having to make 50ml of ink. I called it Cozumel Blue because it resembles the carribean reef waters. I don't have a scanner so I had to use a digital camera, but the photos are pretty much spot on(at least on my monitor). This ink does not have the chalky look that some Noodlers colors do.

If the Noodlers Blue Ghost does not contribute a color on its own (except under blue light), what might a person substitute in its place to achieve the same color results with those other inks? Love the color, but hardly ever have the rare pleasure of living under a blacklight... thankfully.

The Blue Ghost should add a bit of luminosity to the mixture, even if it is not under a blacklight. Since natural light has a UV component, it should be "visible".

It holds up alright under water, not as good as the regular bulletproof inks but deffinately better than normal ink. As for using something else instead of the Blue Ghost Im not really sure. I think that Griffin2020 is correct about the blue ghost adding a bit of luminosity to the mixture. It really is a gorgeous mix of ink.

 

 

P.S. You could probably get away with adding a bit more Diamine royal blue & Waterman South Sea's Blue instead of the Blue Ghost.

Just filled a Lamy Safari EF with Legal Lapis. Looks a little similar, although I'm sure in a wetter nib the Legal Lapis would be significantly darker.

 

Always amazing to me the impact nib size and flow has on color. It's like a surprise every time I put a new ink in a pen. It's rarely exactly what I expect.

I totally agree. In the review everything is written with the Cartier Pasha medium nib except for the two lines that state otherwise. The heavier line with this ink gave it more depth and beauty.
