Lovely review. I've been looking for a vibrant blue too, and, after excellent advice from FPNers, have been thinking about Visconti or Aurora blue. I need to add this one onto my shortlist now!

Okay so a quick update on my experience with this ink.

 

I used it today to write observations at the vet hospital, and found that it did smear a little bit if I kept my hand in one spot for a few minutes while writing, but it has still been less than other inks (Diamine Woodland Green, Diamine Golden Brown...two of my favorite colors by the way). Naples blue standouts on the paper and I can't stop thinking how great it looks, and how smooth it makes my Lamy Safari write, it has great flow! A very fun ink so far.

My gosh, that ink looks so beautiful! I'm still a little leery about buying inks based on PC scans (since PR's Ebony Blue turned out a lot "greener" than it looked on my browser), but this may be my next ink!

I got a bottle of this a few weeks ago and can't stop using it :D. I haven't had any smearing issues, but it is in a EF Lamy Vista.

 

My experience is similar to that of others who posted here - the ink is much brighter than punch's scan, at least on my monitor. It's really a darker, bluer version of turquoise.

I bought my Naples Blue a couple of years ago now. I would describe it as a dark turquoise - noticeably darker than Lamy Turquoise or Waterman SSB. I found that it gave very little shading, although I only used it in a very broad, wet-writing pen.

 

 

Yes - it's definitely on the bluer end of turquoise. Similar in tone to Waterman SSB, but much more blue.

Conversely though, I have found that it gives great shading, even with a FI nib.

It's VERY vibrant. Smears like nuts unless you give it a minute to dry when using Rhodia paper

 

it dries very fast on Hammermill 28lb paper i use in my circa notebook. the only thing i have against it is that it completely disappears off the page with water.

Yes, I absolutly love this color. It is fun and beautiful, but I still have never found it inappropriate for any situation. It does smear easily, and sometimes will partially dry on the nib, but never enough to clog it. Also, this may just be the pen I used it in, but occasionally it needs a little extra perssure than usual to start if I havent been writing for a while. Still, such a great color, I can never convince myself to change it.

      Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

      It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

      Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

      Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

      @asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
