A LAMY CP1 in platinum trim.

Here's the story.

Told my girl (Laurie) what I wanted for Christmas. A black CP1 with an extra fine nib. Always wanted to try one and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. It's modestly priced which made it appropriate to ask for. I suggested she contact Pam Braun as she's local and has great prices.

Came home the other night and Laurie greets me with "Ho Ho Ho" and a package. She says, "I don't know if you'll want this one so I have to show it to you".

I opened it up, saw the LAMY box, opened that - to find a PLATINUM CP1! What a gorgeous pen! I held it in my hand and it felt wonderful - fits just right.

She had contacted Pam and somehow my request for the modest black CP1 had been translated into the platinum model (the one with the cool two-tone nib). Pam was kind enough to personally drop it off at Laurie's workplace.

Of course I want it.

But, I had to put it back in it's box so Laurie could put it away for Christmas. Now I have to wait for it.

Hope I can forget that it's already here!

I've been holding back and vehemently testing and tweaking all of my pens to give me optimum pleasure for the past year. So, of course I just had a break down and went nuts for a few new pens to enhance my addictive nature.

Pelikan M205 Black & White Wedding Set with spare M400 EF and B nibs which I shall promptly turn into a xxxf full flex nib and a .9 mm Italic/xxxf double point nib, my two most favorite nib styles.

Stipula Model T with a titanium nib I shall test to see if it can be reworked to a xxxf full flex as I have only worked with titanium tubing this will be my first attempt with a titanium nib.

Lamy A-Star Black Purple with a medium nib that will be reworked to a .6 mm Italic/xxxf nib, my favorite nib for a Safari or Al-Star.

Sailor Sapporo Black barrel with Red cap and a 14k Fine nib that will be reworked to a xxxf full flex, my favorite nib style of all time.

Can you see my underlying desires when it comes to my pens? I love to desecrate my nibs for my own perverse penmanship pleasures.

The voice of this guitar of mine, at the awakening of the morning, wants to sing its joy;

I sing to your volcanoes, to your meadows and flowers, that are like mementos of the greatest of my loves;

If I am to die away from you, may they say I am sleeping, and bring me back home.

I sure wish that I could say I'm waiting on a Sailor Realo with EF nib, and a Montblonc 146 with EF nib, but unfortunately I can't as I am broke from purchasing other pens that I am waiting for that I have already posted here what seems like weeks ago, but was probably just yesterday.

      Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

      It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

      Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

      Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

      @asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
