Fountain Pens in Singapore

Just went to Fook Hing this afternoon, saw the FPs there, the Parker Capless is going for $188 during this period till 30th April, very unique design I must say. Tried several Sailor FP after Steve brought them out and inked them for me, nice !! Also tried the 21k carat nibs and the "Sai-bi Togi" nib, this is by far the finest nib you can ever write with !!

BTW, does anyone knows who has the largest range of the Pelikan M series? Fook Hing has some ...M215, M600, M1000...etc

Bought the Sailor 1911 with 14K from Fook Hing last week. They are having 30% off on Sailor pens now.

Nib smoother than the Pilot VP.

How much is it after 30% discount ?

Ths list price is S$300. :)

For a list price of S$300 it should be the 1911m and not 1911 right ?

So it's S$210 after discount ?

Does the $188 offer includes the blue and black carbonesque as well ?

Thinking of getting one if it's at $188

Picked up a Pilot MYU90 from the shop on Sunday for $230.00, nice pen though price is quite steep, retail price here with gst is $288.90. Yes, the $188.00 offer includes the blue and black carbonesque, got a blue one for my Korean frd.

That's an attractive price.

Now I'm tempted.

Hi, good to see loads of S'poreans on FPN. I've been trying to find an Aurora Talentum for sale in Singapore (from a shop, so I can try before I buy). Neither Fook Hing nor Aesthetic Bay have it; in fact, they don't seem to have even heard of it!! Anyone know of a shop that carries the Talentum? And the price?

Also, in response to a previous post, the best place I know of in Singapore for the Pelikan M series is Aesthetic Bay. They have lots of individual nib units, so you can usually find one you like to go with the pen.

Sounds like you are from Ipoh.

You can visit the famous Pengallery in KL or another shop names K S Gill.

Not sure about Ipoh.

But you can try the Parksons.

Price for Sonnet varies depending on finishes and type of nib.

Wah, really ah? I am currently deciding between these 3 pens, any opinions? Recommendation? many says that medium nibs are smoother than find nibs <-- is this true coz I prefer to write with fine nibs (the fineness of my Hero 336 is nice for writing, but abit scratchy though)

For Sonnet I recommend you get the FU, with a specialised nib that enable you to hold the pen at a higher angle.

It doesn't have the flow problem that Sonnet is notorious for.

But the Sonnet FU only comes in F nib.

The stainless steel GT version with rhodium plated 18k nib is selling around US$70+ from PenGallery.

Has anyone visited the new UrbanWrite stationary shop at Tampines one ?

Should have some interested writing pads and maybe pens.

Too bad I stay in the other side of the island.

Went there last weekend, there are pads like monologues, some Campo Marzio BP, if you hope to find some FP, you will be disappointed, none at all.......There are lots of larger than size paper FP on the shop pillars as decor though.

Went down to Fook Hing just now.

Lots of items on sale.

Saior, Watrman etc at 30% off. Sailor King of Pen at 40% off.

Bought a Pilot VP Black Carboneszue at $188 with a pack of free cartridges.

Think this is one of the cheapest price around, better than most online and ebay sellers.

Offer till end of April only.

For Sailor it's cheaper to get from Melpens online even after the 30% off. But KOP got 40% off though.

One of our FPN forumer from Sg has lobangs for limited edition Sapporo in nice colours on sale in the classified section here often. Look out for them

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
