Parker 51 Forrest Green Aerometric Filler with Pli-glass filler

 

The forest green Parker “51” Aerometric fountain pen and pencil set is a difficult color to find. Apparently, Parker didn’t manufacture as many pens and sets in this color as it did its other “51” colors. I’ve been holding on to it thinking that I would use it after I had restored the set, but it’s been 4-years now and it’s time for a new home. Whoever gets this will have a very nice example of the Aerometric series Parker “51” fountain pen and pencil sets.

 

This is a full sized fountain pen with medium nib is 5-5/8” with a 10 /12 carat gold cap. What is nice is that both the pen and the pencil are the same color. It’s almost as if they just came out of the case in which they were sold. There are no dents, dings, bite marks, or deep scratches on either the fountain pen or the pencil that my eyes can see. The caps have the micro scratches that any gold cap will pick up over time, but these aren’t really remarkable.

 

I don’t think that this set was used very much because of the clarity of the Pli-glass filler. In fact, one of the reasons I never used the fountain pen was because I didn’t want to darken the ink sac more than it already is.

 

I have not written with the set, but it appears as if the nib is a medium nib. The pencil works just as it should and has plenty of lead.

 

There is a box that comes along with the set if you want it. Actually, the box is nothing to write home about – that’s why I didn’t include it in the pictures. But is does do a good job of holding and protecting the pen and pencil, so please let me know if you want it and I’ll be happy to give it to you.

 

This set is for the first firm “I want it” for $175.00 CONUS with Delivery Tracking. Insurance is an extra $4.60 for this set. If you want insurance, please include that amount in your payment. International shipments are at cost. PayPal is preferred but I do accept USPS Money Orders and Certified Check, which require a clearing time before shipment.

 

Please look through the pictures below. The "Forrest Green" color came out just a little darker than it really is. I've found that it's hard to capture aa true dark green and transfer that color to a monitor. The camera is at 12 mega pixel resolution, so zoom in as much as you want. Also, at this resolution one sees all the dust – no matter how small.
