Hello from New York

Hello

H here. Newbie obviously, studying in NYC but am actually from Singapore.

I had one abortive attempt writing with fountain pens a few years ago - it was a Lamy Safar I think. Bad choice - I write posted and it dragged me down and I wasn't impressed with the ink provided either. After a scare from the records office about how a burst water pipe destroyed records, I gave up on them as my job requires permanent documentation - no, clearly, Noodler's Bulletproof Inks were unknown to me then.

Anyway, I came here, heard about Noodler's and realised that so many other pens and inks were abound and I gave it a second shot. I started with a Waterman Phileaas. I'm glad I made the switch finally as this write great and I'm pleased with the ink flow. I am looking to expand my collection definitely. I'm currently still at the spectrum of the practical user - when I buy the pen, I expect to use it regularly. Perhaps this will change, especially if I get a pay raise ha ha.

I'm looking forward to learning more of course.

Cheers

Definitely. I've already been to FPH, Joon and Art Brown. The inks at Art Brown had me in geeky raptures ^^

Welcome to the neighborhood. B)

While the local stationery store, Janoff's (113& B'way) doesn't carry Noodler's, I'm often surprised what I can find wandering around there. I got a J. Herbin gold stamp pad yesterday, and I noticed they had Parker 51s in the display case; I hadn't even thought to look there! Ivy League also has a limited selection of fountain pens.
