Hello everyone out there,

I am new in this FPN, was browsing the net and chanced upon this site.

I am in love with Pelikan Fine Writing Instruments and have been collecting Pelikan pens for a while.

My beloved Pelikan pens are:

1) The Toledo M900

2) The Evolution of Script

3) M600 Souveran series with the old pelikan logo(green engraved)

4) The Lighthouse of Alexandria

Just for sharing. If you guys have tips on taking care of the fountains, please share with me kindly. I would really appreciate it, sincerely.

Thanking in advance.

Cheers

Hello. I am toying with the idea of going in for a Souveran M800 myself. I like large size pens. You have a lovely collection.

I think taking care of FPs are real easy:

1. Do not drop them!

2. Do not let others borrow them!

3. Use them lots

4. Use only FP inks (NOT india, inkjet, etc.)

5. Flush them every few weeks of use - depends, you will know when.

6. To take care of the body, ensure you do not post the cap (some pens) and do not keep them alongwith loose coins, other metal objects in the same pocket or case.

7. Except for mild detergent do not use any solvents or the like.

Well maybe the more experienced can add more.

Welcome to the forum. I'm also a Pelikan fan.

My collection includes:

1. Toledo King (Silver)

2. Toledo Queen (Mat Gold)

3. M800 Black

4. M250 Black (rarely used)

5. M150 White (rarely used)

6. P10

7. A whole bunch of Pelikanos and Pelikano Juniors

8. Others

The most used pen in my collection is the Toledo Queen. It's now over 18 years old! Here's my "maintenance" regime.

1. Use the pen often or in a regular cycle e.g. weekly rotation.

2. Never let ink dry out in the pen. If I plan on storing the pen, I flush it out and let it dry. Wipe down the outside with a soft piece of cloth.

3. Never lend out the pen. I've had a few scares where people would try and pull off the cap my Toledo! Few have come across screw on caps and are more familar with the clip on ones.

4. Flush out the pen with fresh water every year if in use. Then let is dry. Never soak in hot water!

5. Wipe the pen with a soft piece of cloth if required.

6. Since I live in humid Singapore, I put in some silica gel packs together with the pen in a box to prevent mould during storage.

I had at least 3 pens inked and ready to go at any time. There will be at least one Pelikano inked. This will be taken for casual meetings, classes and business trips. There will be one fancy Pelikan inked and this will be used for business meetings. They rarely get to go on business trips or casual meetings. The logic is that a regular writers like Pelikanos if lost of damaged won't burn a hole in your bank account

Pelikans have served me very well and require very little maintenance and I've never had trouble with them. I'm certain you'll enjoy them also.

Hi and Welcome! I only have one 'good' Pelikan(M400) that is my EDC pen right now as well as a Pelikano. I love them though and would buy more as soon as I can afford it.

Looking to exchange ink samples! Available: Noodler's Bulletproof Black, Noodler's 54th Massachusetts, Noodler's Black Swan in English Roses, Noodler's Bad Belted Kingfisher, Noodler's Operation Overlord Orange

Welcome to FPN. I only have one Pelikan, a Pelikano, at the moment. That may change soon after reading all the glowing reviews of them here.

Welcome, lots of Pelikan fans here, me included from memory I have:-

6 X M200 (although a couple have 14c nibs so technically are M250s)

2 X M150

1 X 140

2 X M400

1 X 400NN

2 X M600

1 X M800

1 X Level 5

1 X Level 1

and several BPs, RBs and MPs in all sizes and various vintages to match most FPs (including my favourite Tortoise colour). Oh nearly forgot a couple of Pelikanos.

Personally I have so far avoided using Noodlers or Private Reserve inks in mine, mainly use Pelikan, Waterman or Diamine inks.
