Taccia Andante

Gently twist the blind cap (the knob on the end of the barrel) anticlockwise until it stops. Dip the nib and a little of the section into ink, and twist the blind cap gently clockwise until it stops. Lift the nib out of the ink, turn the knob anticlockwise until 3 drops of ink fall back into the bottle. Then turn the knob clockwise until it stops, and clean the nib and section.

I wonder if someone might clarify for me if the piston knob on this pen is loose, and therefore liable to be turned accidentally. Is it so loose that it could turn in transit and spill ink?

I carry mine in my shirt pocket and have not had any ink spillage.

For sure a good and thoughtful review. Thanks.

This is a pen I've been looking at for awhile but decided to stay away until I could learn more about it. From your description it shows good attention to design and detail. The steel nib is acutally interesting and begins to open up a whole new class of fountain pens that just happen to be great writers. The steel nib fits and needs to make no excuses.

Excellent.

Interesting design. Thanks for taking the trouble to review it.

Looking at the shape, I rather feel two different people designed the cap & pen. There doesn't appear to be a lot of design co-ordination between the two. I remain unconvinced about it.

Regards

Richard.
