1] Remove the blind cap, pull out the button, pull put the pressure bar. You might have to reach in and crunch the sac to do this, but doing so can prevent damage to the barrel. Crunch the sac using a long thin rod while avoiding pressure on the blind cap nipple. I have on occasion seen a petrified sac wrapped around a presure bar, which locks the section in place. So crunching the sac may make it easier to remove the section,

2] Heat - you may need a considerable amount of heat, and maybe more than your hair dryer can provide. The hard rubber can handle more heat than celluloid will, but you need to be careful.

3] Use two plier wrenches - one on the section, one on the barrel near the section. This will keep the torque near the joint, and prevent stress on the rest of the barrel. Gently rotate the section back and forth - avoid bending the pen. Warm the pen frequently.

If you feel squeemish about doing this, then by all means send the pen to someone who is qualified and who has experience in getting stuck sections out of pens.

Ron, many thanks. I'll save it for your :)

I tried to heat and used my hands (with rubber gloves) to twist. I think I almost distorted the barrel (or illusion) because it felt almost soft (even just with the hair drier). I had no troubles with all plastic Duofolds I encountered before. This one just did not budge. Comparatively Watermans are much easier to handle. I think that I've tried the best I can without damaging it. I should call it quit.

I actually got two RHR senior, one with large imprint and one with medium imprint, both had the same difficulty. They are lovely, other than the fact that I cannot get them to work. Maybe I'll try to catch you in the New England pen show in April (are you coming?).
