FPN Tulipe Noire - It's here!

This is going to be horrendously low tech as this is all new technology to me. Additionally, the hand scrawled review is straight from the pages of my personal journal [Eccolo] and I have no idea if it'll show the rich color of the ink.

 

At any rate, I'm so thrilled with our new ink that it drove me to try a scanner I've never used. If you haven't ordered this ink, you need to!

 

Edit - It looks black in the picture, but it's really a gorgeous deep purple.

Thanks for a prompt review and decorative scrawling - for those of us waiting for the ink to cross the atlantic it made the wait seem even longer. Gorgeous colour, can't wait!

Gee, that really is a pretty color. I don't know about low-tech but the scan looks good and with good color accuracy. I like the wide range in shading too.

I have a page of notes already down in Galileo Manuscript, but, wont be able to get it scanned until tonight.

Thanks for the scan! Looks just like what I was expecting. I love inks that change color as they dry.

Got mine with today's mail and inked it in a CS100 Amethyst (not the flecked Amethyst). Wow, the shading is fantastic and the color is a dark reddish purple. Nice ink. Great feathering resistance, even on cheap filler paper. Flow is wonderful. Only downside for me as a lefty is drying time - rather slow.

I was surprised by this ink. I was after the brown and as an afterthought, threw in a bottle of Tilipe Noire. I'm so happy I did. I've started to use it in a wet medium Stipula Etruria and love that deep, dark color and shading you mentioned. Good stuff and in the end, glad they found my lost package so I know what I would have missed.

Just an update on the performance of this ink. I had a few pens which were finicky about inks and the Tulipe Noire definitely agrees with them. Beautiful flow in a pen that was having problems following a piston repair. The "breathing" problem experienced with my PR inks is gone and back is the luscious flow I remember from pre piston problem days.

 

On cheap notebook paper, I occasionally see a little bleed thru using my wet B nibs, but far less than I'm used to in the PR inks. The color is easy on my eyes under all lighting. Some colors are finicky under incandescent bulbs, but I can take this ink even into low lighting and still see what I'm doing.

 

Someone who has this AND the Galileo, let me know if the brown is as well behaved. If so, I'll be placing new orders in January.

I haven't used a lot of Noodlers in the past but the nib creep I'm experiencing in the Stipula with the Tulipe Noire is pretty much the norm for that brand I believe. It doesn't bother anything so I don't mind a little ink seeping onto the nib. This ink is flowing pretty generous too.

 

Haven't tried the Galileo yet.
