Van Gogh Turtle - look when filled

Visiting this forum almost daily, I am mainly a lurker who post rarely (too new, too few pens, no camera to take photos), but I have always been overwhelmed with the knowledge and enthusiasm among its member - and I hope for that now.

I have finally accumulated the finance and more importantly the power of persuation at home with my misses, and will go ahead buying a Visconti Van Gogh Maxi

But then it struck me - the turtle one that I am considering are are translucent, and all the nice pictures I have seen of it in the reviews have been with the pen unfilled...

My direct questions to those of you who are (or have been) proud owners of the Van Gogh Turtle - how much of the ink do you see, I guess it depends on the colour of the ink? Anyone have any pictures of it filled?

Thank you vey much in advance...

Jespero

It looks great when filled, particularly with brown ink. This is one of the great features of this pen. It is translucent/transparent enough that you can see the ink remaining without having to unscrew the point.

You see enough that you're intrigued. I agree with Brian that brown ink especially looks nice. But with any color ink, the visual is not so stark that it's the first thing one would notice about the pen when filled. Hope that helps.

Talking about fountain pens is like dancing about architecture.

I agree with what the others said. You can see how much ink remains in the converter without unscrewing the barrel, and I like that feature. It looks like a narrow darker tube-shaped area within the barrel, but to me it does not at all detract from the appearance of the pen--I never thought of it that way. No two of these pens are the same, and although it is translucent, my pen has some dark veining/pattern in the barrel. It doesn't really matter what color ink is inside because the barrel pattern does obscure the ink color somewhat.
