Ah, sorry I forgot to reply as to where i purchased the pen. I bought it from entropy00 at the marketplace. It was hardly used at all and in pristine condition. No affiliation with entropy00, but an excellent person to buy from.

I just (a week ago) purchased the same Sailor 1911 and wonder how I have made it this far in life without one before. The only diff in yours & mine is that yours has the Sailor logo on the end of the pen. Thanks for the post & the great pics!

Jason, how does the full size pen's 21k nib write compared with the Sapporo's 14k nib?

The 21K nib feels pretty good - smooth and lays down a uniformly wet line. I really can't compare the two because my Pro Gear nib is a F and the Sapporo nib is a XF. The 14K nib is a tad toothier and feels a little stiffer, but still is quite smooth for being so fine.

That is a beautiful pen! I always wanted one but can't decide if I should get the mini or the professional gear... I love the mini because of its cost and size, short but thick enough like a proper size pen. However, I love the nib of the PG, 21K and the two tone colour is to die for! One day I will have them both!

That last picture sure gives you an appreciation for what guys like Mottishaw, Binder, Masuyama and all the other fine nib grinders, including amateur tinkerers, are working with.

(Great Shots). My pen too... recently got this pen in a H-B nib. Wow... what a smooooth writer!

 

I also have a Sailor Sapporo in 14K H-F nib which happens to be an old favorite of mine. Sailor is

famous for it's F & EF nibs but above H-B nib on my PG is like a dream - up there with the likes of

my Pilot Custom 845's nib.

 

(What a co-incidence, I hobby photos too & my Canon EOS kit has 3 lenses but not a macro).
