The new city cites POC is now available by pam and is listed under M425: so it looks like we won't be seeing two new pens this month, what a shame!!

i'm a bit confused by this as all previous cities series pens have been 600 size.

oh thank goodness.

at first blush... i'm not tempted.

looks interesting and not unattractive.  i wonder what it looks like up close and personal though.  such light-colored pens are hard to appreciate in photos.

Still don't like it ?

Nope don't like it one little bit. It's too washed out for my taste and I can imagine that if any inke ever got into the threads what changes would be made to the pen.

Up to this part the only thing I didn't like about the cities pens was their size ( too small). Now Pelikan has a pen with two strikes against it for me.

Kurt H

I'm with Kurt on this one. The city series is too small for my hand and this new one just doesn't stike me as something I would like to own.

A very different view of the "Place de la Concorde" :o

Wow! Will the real Place de la Concorde please stand up? I wonder who has the truest representation of the actual colors?

And, John is saying that it's M600 size. When you get yours, Denis, please set us straight.

Kurt and Bryan, count me in. This one has no appeal to me at all, and the shifting washed out colors is the main reason. Not sure about the size - never held a 600 sized Pelikan, but is it a 600 or 400 sized? Seems to be a bit of confusion. No matter, at least for me on this one. No offense intended at any of you who like it - we all have our own tastes.

I am pretty sure that it is indeed the 600 size, never held it but it is a city series pen, I think though when they switched over to the city squares they should numbered it differently like M621 or something.

from Pam

"They are two different pens; the Place de la Concorde is a 620 City pen and the 425 is a 400 with sterling cap and green barrel. The 620 is limited production and the 425 is not."

don't know if it's striped or not... that was all she gave me but then I didn't ask other than what size it was.

Okay, but what's confusing is that Pam shows it this way at her site:

IN STOCK Pelikan Place de la Concorde M425 [PIC]

I guess you called her?

no, i wrote. went through her website "Ask Pam" thingy. Though she's wonderful to deal with so I'm sure she wouldn't mind a call. I said that there was confusion because of the way it was written as to whether the 425 and PdlC were one and the same or two different pens and that my understanding was that the PdlC was in the Cities series therefore a 600 size. Hence her response.

Gotcha! She really does tend to her business and that often means email responses within a few minutes. :)

I don't believe that Pam does her own website work. She once answered my question as to whether the cute kid was hers, with the fact that it was the kid of her webmeister. Judging by the fact that her website seems to be about two weeks between updates, it'll be interesting to see if that number on the Place de la Concorde changes on the next update.

It's at the post office right now... got a USPS slip on saturday that they "tried to deliver"... even though we were home all day <_< I'll pick it up tomorrow morning and I'll tried to shed some light on the mistery pen

I got it. It's definitely not as blue as in most pictures, but not as redish as on Mottishaw's site. The tan and grey stripes are not blue. The pearl swirls are beautiful, and I'm afraid close to impossible to render in a photograph.

I'll try to take a pic, but I doubt I'll do better than the other ones.

edit : adding an as
