oh thank goodness.

at first blush... i'm not tempted.

looks interesting and not unattractive. i wonder what it looks like up close and personal though. such light-colored pens are hard to appreciate in photos.

I admire Pelikan for trying a VERY very different approach to this pen, as of now I don't like it all that much, in person it might be a different story. Very unusual I could live without it.

I cant wait until they unveil what the 425 Pelikan is????

Both of these are due out this very month.

Its always good to see more pelikans out there.

This has got to be the strangest approach to a pelikan pen yet, and I won't know if I like it until I see it in person. In the past the design was pretty much the same: Berlin=Stockholm=Madrid=Chicago=San Fransisco and Athens=Piazza Navona=Shangai: just change the color scheme: I don't know if I like the really faded blue expecially with the nib, it might be more appealing in this case for a single tone plain yellow gold nib in this case. But overall a great looking pen that will turn some eyes and nicely done pelikan once again.

I also noticed that the pelikan logo is still the old version of the logo with the two pelikan chicks and not just one? Wonder if they will ever update that to the newer pens being made?

well.. i didn't say I didn't like it. Just that it didn't bowl me over or make me want to put it at the top of my wish list.

If Bill's pic is truer to the color (it looked quite white to me in the other image) then yes, it does get my attention more so.

I half agree with WWM - the nib isn't right. But it should be solid white gold in color to match the rest of the furniture.

still, it is a nice looker - just not sure it's a rich enough color. Really have to see this one in person and seriously doubt I'll ever get that opportunity.

i do like the departure from marbled or vertically striped (other cities pens). I would like to see Pelikan continue to try new patterns like this. I really wish there were more browns in Pelikan pens. Deep browns and golds in a similar style would really turn my head. so might greens....

greys...

yeah... i want it all!

I wish pelikan came out with a pen that truly was designed to look like the real pelikan: the entire color scheme and everything designed to be a true "pelikan" I wonder what they could come up with?

After seeing Bill R's image, it's grown for me even more.

I really like the cooler colour scheme which I find very refreshing. As for the 2-tone nib, I don't quite mind it as most of the MX05 series with silver trim also have the same nib. It's bold and I really like the fact that Pelikan is leading the way in pen designs away from tradition.

Top of my list... and what timing too, just ordered a Piazza from Pam...

I have to agree that seeing Bill`s picture pushed me over the top.

Wow. Definitely going on my pens to buy when I`m out of debt list

Of course by then it will be a vintage classic and cost even more :bonk:

i am in the midst of a rather complex cross stitch pattern of a Pelikan er.. Pelican on a post with the sea in the background. The pattern is all greys and browns with a little bit of the dark brickish-red/orange color seen on their necks. Excluding the red/orange highlights, I'd say that the grey-brown scheme would absolutely win my affections if done properly. maybe I can pile up the colors of floss I'm using and take a picture.

I think it's very pretty, but it's not me! My take is that it is, by and large, a "chick stick"!

hey... careful Mr.Roger ! One of these babies took off this morning from Pam's and is flying my way ! :)

The second picture looks so much better. It shows this to be a lavender dominated pen. It looks interesting, unusual, and nice in a certain way. It looks like there is a subtle tricolor under the lavender veil. But I don't see any traces of the Place de la Concorde here

If anything, it should have been called La Provence

Mr. Roger? Geez, now you make me sound like a hairdresser. My "by and large" stands, though, as the ultimate cop out.

But, you did mention using a "man purse", right?
