Why does this feel like an April fools joke?

I was sort of thinking the same thing.  Especially after the local website that lists estate sales in SW PA posted a listing a couple of days ago from something called "April First Liquidations"....  :headsmack:  And the weirdest thing (at least to me) about the so-called "listing" is that fountain pens were included in the huge paragraph of what was (allegedly) available....

Of course, this so called journal thing is making me think that if it WAS real, it probably wasn't sturdily enough constructed and I was just *betting* that the elastic band was there for a REASON -- I can't imagine the front cover not coming off at some point (especially after I've had it happen to REAL books, including our hardbound edition of The Joy of Cooking, which I picked up at IIRC some estate sale years and years ago, which is a slightly different edition from my old paperback copy, so some of the recipes are different).

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

I do have a blank 500 page ledger/journal, but nothing like 1,000+ pages.

That would probably hold most of my puns... if I ever decided to write them down.

I asked Gemini if there are notebooks with 1000+:

"Key Options for 1000+ Page Notebooks:

  • Tomoe River Paper Notebooks: Specialized, often available on niche sites or Reddit, offering 1000 pages (500 sheets) of extremely thin, fountain-pen-friendly paper.
  • Amblitz Mega Spiral Notebook: A4 size unruled notebook containing 1000 pages.
  • "Giant" Amazon Notebooks: Various sellers offer 500-sheet (1000 pages) softcover, letter-sized (8.5x11) notebooks.
  • Epica 1000-Page Notebook: A high-end, often leather-bound option.
  • Vintage/Specialty Leather Journals: Brands like Cuero make 1000-page leather-bound, hand-deckled paper journals."

I didn't check all of the results but the Epica. About $200.

Amazon has a number of very thick notebooks for small amount of money, like $17 or so.

Anyway it was a nice April fool post.

Also, books have an even number of pages.

I cite: "With 1917 numbered pages"

1918 is unnumbered. 😁

That's odd!

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
