I0310-1
末匠(majohn/moonman) is planning on a new montblanc knock-off. Picture shows a test piece that looks like a MB 1246.

They said, half-jokingly, that you should buy vintage MB gold nibs now, before the price rises.

永续好物(Yongxu/Timeless) is to suspend the octagonal type 116 due to high defect rate in manufacture. Type 286 and 296 are not to be affected.

Name: 善华serica revivo, 叁号(type 03)

Time: before June 2023

Comment: An early piece of serica revivo's type 03, which is later renamed type 03 SC to seperate from 03 deluxe. The HSEB feed features fins, abrupt downward slope, and tip-dip filling. This pen has manual grinding of 猫叔刀(uncle cat's Naginata) by 元气猫叔, serica revivo's official partner on grinding design.

Name: 善华serica revivo, 叁号(type 03)

Time: after June 2023

Comment: Another type 03, later than O0311-1. This piece has machine grinding labeled EF but most would say it is at least an F. The JTEB feed does not have tip-dip function. Later in June 2024, serica revivo would introduce X1EB feed which looks like JTEB but has tip-dip. However it is easy to tell the two from each other because the nib set accept different c/c diameter.

Name: 上海君来-永生JunL Wingsung 600

Time: December 2022

Comment: One of the first no.8 nibs/ modern 18k nibs/ mass-produce hard rubber pens from China. Plate has peeled off from the two-tone nib over time. The orange and silver option should have a silver color heart-beat nib, but they switched to this when I returned it for grinding issues. However the original grinding on this straight slit nib was still unsatisfying and I sent it to nib master.

Name: 善华(serica revivo) 032.5 18k

Time: after September 2024/ bought May 2026

Comment: serica revivo is known for raising prices as gold prices rise, they also sell 18k nibs significantly more expensive than 14k nibs. Suspension of 18k nibs before latest version 032.7 means that there are only older 032.5s with 18k nibs by far. It makes used ones expensive as well. Recently I managed to acquire a second hand but unused piece.

I love your insider reports on pens we don’t see much outside China, keep it up!

I got the Jun Lai 600 early on, it was my first high end Chinese pen and I got the black chased version, since chasing is pretty rare on modern ebonite pens.

I notice the 600 has almost doubled in price since gold prices have gone up so dramatically. The Jun Lai ebonite pens originally were originally incredible bargains, but I’d argue they are still good value for the price.

Comment: Timeless' official long tine grinding based on a BB tine nib. This grinding design is said to be a homage to nagahara nobuyoshi's original naginata style.

I0312-1

Many Chinese manufacturers are open to custom orders. Options include change of color and material, inscription and so on. Order may be from detailers, firms or any society.

Upon the passing of Pope Francis, some religious group ordered JunL 930 white body and black top/tail, with inscription "george mario bergoglio". Since the wingsung 600, JunL introduced machine engraving to their products, e.g. the "chased" pattern wingsung 600 and JunL 631 which has its model name engraved on the cap.

The leftover pieces of the 930s mentioned above gained so much popularity that JunL maded more for the market.

BTW, somehow Chinese ppl refer to black top/tail color option as color+panda, for example an orange parker duofold would be orange panda. This is kind of weird. But in the Pope Francis 930's occasion, it is indeed a "white panda".

Name: Tangmoon D6 resin and Timeless keyhole c/c

Time: pen December 2023, nib November 2025

Comment: This pen is big. In another thread I showed the peek Tangmoon D6. Although the spring loaded anti-dry inner cap seems promising, the nib dry out quicker than a normal screw cap pen. The nib is identical to those on Timeless 286 but set up to c/c sleeve and feed.IMG_20260312_174244.thumb.jpg.86e3c86b369d4423d11ed4f1588a314b.jpg

I like that resin! I have a D6 in white and black PEEK, which doesn’t compliment the trim as nicely as this handsome resin does.

I’ve also seen the D6 in ebonite, at a rather expensive price!
