New Jinhao: 82 Plus

Credit to the original poster on the Reddit FP sub, but there’s a new model out called the 82 Plus. It’s a cigar pen with a cutesy special nib.

It’s only in a couple AliExpress stores and not always showing up in search yet. The ad gives the weight (19.7 grams) but not the length but it appears to be a petite pen. Nib choices are EF/F/M. Nib appears to be a #26 aka #5.

Two color choices so far, the pink-blue gradient in the photo and a slightly translucent baby blue, both with either chrome or gold trim. If this is any sort of 82 at all, multiple colorways will follow.

And speaking of multiple colorways, Jinhao has simultaneously introduced a bewildering array of ‘special edition’ regular 82s! (Sample in the second photo.)

So, is this the first ‘significant’ new Chinese pen of 2026, at least of those pens available outside China?

The second pen looks nice but $14 is a bit heavy. Many mixed colors (sometimes called LE):

I remember having bought the basic 82s for $2-$5, now they are all over $5. If the word LE is added they are much more expensive.

Looks like a general price increase at Aliex?

Happened to me too. By way of Google Search and in some cases by searching Aliex with a photo you typically find it then.

Honestly, as I browsed around AliExpress, I thought that most of the pens I know are at higher prices now, even older models now.

I do remember that past color LEs of the 82 started at about this price point but I suspect you’re correct that they won’t come down in price much, as they did in the past.

For some reason, the mini version always cost more but had the premium colors and dramatic looks.  I always thought the 82 was a great design and gets real close to that "perfect" pen spot for a lot of users.  For my purposes, I can't see the additional pricing unless there is something substantial happening.  A tweak here or there is not enough.  If they want to get serious, make this model with acrylic or a swirled resin of some type.  Then raise the price for a pen that warrants the increase.

A Reddit user in Italy got his ebonite J16 today!

I ordered two on January 2, the blue has no assigned delivery date, the red early March. I sold my titanium j16 immediately, never inked it, much prefer my Ti P136.
I am actively seeking an interesting compatible nib to replace that boring blank Jowo nib.

He is lucky mine says by feb 26.

As for nibs I know the number 6 Lemon manual grind nibs are nice. They also works with any jowo housing unit.

Have yet to acquire any of the Lemon offerings but I have seen several reviewed on YouTube.  Are these a step above the recent Asvine and Hong Dian pens or are these all in the same camp, just different trim and boxes?

Not as nice, in my opinion, apart the nibs. I have several and only the titanium

M2 is great, the plastic M1 and M2 are decent. Two of their pens are essentially the same as the counterfeit Mont Blanc’s—or perhaps they are the same as the Majohn P136 and P138! I do love the nibs though.

Raise the price and improve the plastic. From what I see over at Reddit, the caps are essentially prone to breakage near the cap band.

As dan said their pens are meh and are cheap clones of montblanc while the nibs are made by the company, I believe. I find my two manual grind medium and long blade, are better and wetter then asvine and hong dian while the fine nib is wet but similar in writing to Majohn fine.
