Glad I pre-ordered 2 weeks ago when they were available, now it seems pre order is finished. Probably should had posted this back then. Was originally looking at the regular one then saw they had this as an option. Decided to go with jowo omniflex since I already had a few noodler semi flex and I did use Christmas money to buy a kanwrite desire flex, fpr Ashoka with Ultra fine flex, and a fpr flex

It’s an interesting variant. However, I’m doubtful about the quality of the ebonite. I own a pen with the same yellow‑mustard and black pattern, mixed with a third color.

On that one, the ebonite was softer in the yellow areas than in the black or the pink, which made machining difficult and led to slight surface bumps. I hope it doesn’t come from the same manufacturer.

In the promotional photos, everything looks perfect, but as usual, I’ll wait for someone more impatient than I am to test it first. I’d also prefer if they changed the shape of the finials and the clip to make them less Montblanc‑like and more distinctive.

So far the only quality issue I have seen with asvine was the c2k stabilized wood. I was one of the lucky ones that had no seal issue back in the original release.  As for ebonite. This is there second ebonite pen the c2k ebonite, when it was 80 bucks, it was pretty well made and so far it has held up and is perfect even with the bodies metal threads and ebonite cap threads. So it is safe to presume the Ebonite will be from the same source and they did make it ebonite on ebonite threading this time

That sounds more like a hopeful assumption than a certainty. We’ll know for a fact soon, as I’m looking forward to hearing about your experience once you receive it.

Good observation. That should enhance the wear resistance of those threads.

I ordered pretty quickly after the ebonite version was mentioned on Reddit and the red one was already back ordered to March 2. Being greedy, however, I ordered a blue one also that apparently will ship on the release date. I immediately sold my titanium J16 which I’d never inked. Much prefer my hammered Ti136.

I wonder if it’s appreciably lighter than the Ti J16?

If I like the j16 ebonite. I might have to get the og j16 with broad. Since I don't have a broad jowo.

anyone received and test driven theirs yet? i've got a Ti J16 and am very fond of it, hoping to hear good things about the new ebonites.

"i spent roughly 20 years writing a journal that extended to some 35 volumes. at the end of it i'd written a bunch of words that ended relationships, filled up my closet, spent a river of ink and afforded me some excellent practice with fountain pens. out of all of that i kept a few pens. i believe the moral of this story is that when you sit down to write it is best to keep an open mind about what you'll take away from it in the end."

Not yet. The Amazon has it being delivered by Feb 26. Was hoping to get it by the 6th since I pre-ordered same day to next day when pre-ordering was first available.

Yep. Amazon originally said for me delivery feb 2 to 26. But hopefully payment is going through tomorrow or Saturday. If not I might cancel and get the lamy al star pine...

Hopefully will get it on Sunday. Ended up cancelling the preorder since I saw it was in stock and there were only 5 left.

I came here to say I was just got a notice from Amazon that mine will arrive Tuesday. I saw from drakolord that they are in stock and sure enough they are—even the red one, although my pre-order still says March 2.

Excited for Tuesday!

How does it compare size-wise to the V800, V200, and the C80? Thank you.

Thank you. I’ve fallen in love with Asvine in the last two months.

Isn’t it neat to find well-designed pens at affordable prices?

It’s mind boggling how classy they are and the feel of the #8 nib which is the only one I have so far on the pens I have. I compare it to the old adage that people used years back (not me 😊) about the feeling of a higher end car, etc. I have enough gold nibbed pens to know how great these are from head to toe. I’m two months in and been into pens since the mid 90s, so far 2 800s, three C80s and a V200 coming tonight. I checked out the J16, it looks amazing. Thanks for the link. I also got a table from Chat sizing them all up.

All in all, the J16 seems quite impressive and it can be purchased with a Broad nib which I see is Jowo vs. Asvine (not selling any pens with a B nib) or Bock. My only thought is the green ebonite which I like most with the B nib is $66.99, sought of up there and significantly more than the 800 or 80 which I presume is due to the titanium, although, it’s a #6 nib. I’m hoping you all post once you start receiving them. 😊
