Pens to Use for Christmas 2025

Misfit

Recommended Posts

Last year, I used a different pen every day in December with red or green ink. I alternated days with red on odd number dates, and green on even number days. The inks didn’t always differ, but the pens did.

I’ve just got two pens ready to start the month. Do any of you have plans to use certain pens and inks for December?

I currently have 18 pens inked! I have two more arriving today with two new inks so I'll will probably be at 20 by the end of the day!

I currently have Noodler's Widow Maker in my Retro 51 Black Cherry and Diamine Oxblood in my Lamy Safari Dark Dusk.

In my sport Kaweco Sport I have Diamine Cool Green and in my Onoto Ceramic BRG Scholar I have Diamine Ultra Green.

Very pretty and festive pens! Will you fill the green with red ink and the red with green? I like this idea; it feels special.

Looking to buy a Delta Chatterley Stantuffo Fusion Star Cage.

Last night (or 0Dark30) I loaded a green Pelikano Jr with Montblanc Irish Green, and a Preppy with a red mix.  Got ink all over my fingers.  🤣

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

When I first saw the title of this thread, "Pens for Christmas 2025," I thought it would be about what pens we were wishing to get, lol.

Yeah.  So did I...  Especially after getting a bunch of "Cyber Monday" ads from various pen shops in my inbox this morning....

I was predictable and filled red with red, and green with green.

I changed the name of the topic to hopefully clear it up. But it might still be a place to add what pens you want, if no one  starts that topic.

I like that, though. Predictability can be a good thing!

The Pelikan M600 Rudi Rother looks quite Christmas-y, not by theme, but in its color combination:

I hope you get them all. Am I right to think all are on the pricey side?

@lamarax indeed it does. Is it filled with ink? If so, what color please?

J. Herbin Éclat de Saphir. Not very Christmas-y :)

A couple of vendors had those at OPS this year.  Too rich for my blood, sadly -- but boy are they pretty!

@AkitaMom -- Diamine Classic Red is probably my favorite red ink.  Because it's RED -- smack in the middle of the spectrum red.  Doesn't lean pink, or brown, or burgundy.

Thanks for the info (I only used B&W film and learned to process that).   Boy -- the stuff I learn here!  Just continually astounded at the depth and breadth of knowledge in this community! Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

It just wasn't likely to have been Kodachrome.  It would have been the films I referred to as "other color films." (Kodachrome is not a generic term for color film. It is a specific film that produces transparencies, or slides, by a process not used for any other film. There are other color trans

@Ceilidh -- Well, I knew people who were photography majors in college, and I'm pretty sure that at least some of them were doing photos in color, not just B&W like I learned to process.  Whether they were doing the processing of the film themselves in one of the darkrooms, or sending their stuff out to be processed commercially?  That I don't actually know, but had always assumed that they were processing their own film. Kodachrome 25 was the most accurate film for clinical photography and was used by dermatologists everywhere. I got magnificent results with a Nikon F2 and a MicroNikkor 60 mm lens, using a manually calibrated small flash on a bracket. I wish there were a filter called "Kodachrome 25 color balance" on my iPhone camera.
