Moore L-83 without ring top? - Self-answered

I have an L-83 Tuscan from among the pens left by my grandfather, who lived in Massachusetts most of his life, and the cap is a flat top instead of a ring top. Were there some L-83s that had this cap, or was it probably a cap switch with another model? The cap does seem to match the pen itself, fit securely. 

 

Edit: It didn't take long to search the forums, something I should have done first, to find an advertising image of an L-83 with a flat top, and someone's image of a Jade Green L83 with no ring. Answer: Yes, some pens didn't have the ring top. 

So while I don't need an answer anymore, enjoy these pen pics if you like.
