This explains how João's alligators became Lobo's caimans became Bond's crocodiles. :)

I would need more than six takes if I hadn't resorted to digital (and there's still stuff I want to rework) ...

I understand that. That happens when I write. I'm guessing Procreate is like a word processor that makes life easier. :)

INKTOBER52 PROMPT NO.50 IS “VILLAIN”
This week’s prompt is your excuse to unleash your wonderfully wicked side! Think of all the directions you can go: a classic cape-wearing mastermind with an over-the-top monologue, a misunderstood antihero just trying their best, or a tiny, adorable villain whose evil plan is something like… stealing everyone’s snacks. You can dive into fantasy and create a shadowy sorcerer, design a stylish comic-book nemesis, or sketch a villain who looks terrifying but is actually just having a very dramatic Thursday. Lean into tropes, flip them upside down, or invent something totally unexpected. This prompt is ripe for personality!

Play with silhouettes, sharp angles, expressive eyes, dramatic poses. Villains are all about presence. And don’t forget, Inktober is about getting back to the basics: simple tools, strong ideas, and letting your imagination run the show. You don’t need flashy tricks to create someone deliciously devious. Just your pen, your creativity, and a spark of mischief. So go big, go bold, go dastardly… and have a blast bringing your villain to life!

For the next prompt, @yazeh's masterful use of white inspired me to try a new tool:

50 villain? (6. Incidental judgments)

... or victim? Dom Lobo struggled to decide.

Guess it depends on the point of view.  Kitty certainly seems to feel, from the cranky expression on her (?) face, that "off-key" Mouse is the "villain"....

Lovely it's simplicity and how you captured the original Sumerian/ Babylonian imagery.

As ever, going to great lengths to not draw the prompt, and featuring a long walk to a terrible pun.

---
51 capricorn (7. Incidental absences)

The disappearance of the minor functionary Gonçalves in the aftermath of the incident proved controversial among later historians.

Textualists took the cryptic entry capri-corn in a ledger of court personnel as a straightforward reference to his anachronistic fondness for Capri pants and tricorn hats*. More imaginative accounts sent him to that Mediterranean island in search of maize contracts. The conspiracy-minded discerned a mangled abbreviation of CApitão PRovIsório do COmércio Rural do iNterior — an office of uncertain scope, doubtful necessity, and undocumented existence. Pragmatists, meanwhile, concluded that he had simply got the king’s goat.

Dom Lobo’s personal confidences, and the identity of his 'neutral intermediary', remain to be discovered.

*Or, as some insisted, playing the cornet.

INKTOBER52 PROMPT NO.51  “CAPRICORN

It was the longest night of the year. Gazing into the fire, Cat & Mouse recalled the moment their ancestors first met. When the Sumero-Babylonian Suḫurmāšu (the goat-fish) kept the balance at the threshold, so that water would neither flood the land nor abandon it. As long as the flame kept burning, they would be alright; whether the goat lost its tail or not was irrelevant.

Back to see the drawings. I’m glad it’s gone on for a longer time. It’s cool to see the different perspectives on the prompts.

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.
    • Ceilidh
Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
