Team black got a new member (TWSBI Precision)

This afternoon I received my new 0.7mm pencil, a TWSBI Precision with a retractable tip (I'll write a review later).

I really like black pencils, so the color was an easy choice.

From the top:

- Koh-I-Noor Versatil 5905, currently with a Pica 2.8mm H lead

- TWSBI Precision 0.7mm, with the factory lead (which is??)

- Rotring 300 2.0mm, with Rotring HB lead

- Rotring Rapid Pro 0.7mm, with Uni Smudge-Proof HB lead

- Rotring Rapid Pro 2.0mm, with Rotring HB lead

Yes, I have softer leads as well, but at the moment not in a black pencil 🙂

I’m looking forward to your review! A friend of mine who does a lot of artwork has a couple of TWSBI fountain pens that he really likes; I’ve been thinking of getting him the Precision pencil as a gift.

Well, here are some notes I already wrote down in preparation:

Pro:
- Balance in the middle of the pencil
- Retractable tip
- Large eraser (though I prefer a dedicated eraser)
- Delivered with extra pencil leads and erasers
- Contrary to earlier reports, no lead breaking so far, despite using the eraser repeatedly
- The quality of the black finish is excellent (don't know about durability yet)

Con:
- Bright chromed parts are fingerprint magnets
- Knurling is a bit less grippy than I prefer
- Clip is stiffer than comparable pens (RR600, Rapid Pro)

Neutral:
- 25gr, slightly heavier than a Rotring 600
- Supplied leads are good (HB?) but there is no information about them at all

Thanks, that’s great! It seems like a nice pencil
