Small world

This isn't especially important but I'll put it here in case anyone else is as amused by it as I am. Today I got a batch of Vac diaphragms from the Pen Sac Co. (thanks, @FarmBoy) which included a postcard showing an old schematic of a standard sac from the PSC's predecessor, the White Rubber Co. of Ravenna, Ohio. The postcard also says "Sacs are made in the USA using much of the original equipment built by Kent Manufacturing in the 1920s and 30s"; Ravenna is just east of Kent. In the same mail delivery was an eBay purchase of a vintage Starrett thread pitch gauge, sent to me by a seller located in... Streetsboro, Ohio, which is just north of Ravenna. And I was born in the Ravenna hospital. And it's my birthday week. I guess this hobby was my destiny! 🙂

Small world, indeed.  My sister lives in Streetsboro and her daughter (and family) live in Ravenna.  I was up there about 6 weeks ago.

Next visit I need to see if the White Rubber Co. building is still standing.

I’ll be interested to hear what you find! I haven’t been in the area in decades, though I did visit once many years after my family moved away.
