Another Parker joins the flock

Though it is probably a Parker 51, it is the ballpoint version.

I really wanted a matching ballpoint to go with my first P 51, my first attempt was expensive, a custom model that though advertised as P 51 was either a very late version or the match for a P 61.

This was advertised locally with no claim on what version, just a cap activated Parker ballpoint.

Price was $20 NZ delivered.

It arrived this morning, perfect matched colour, and though it hasn’t spent all its life in a box shows its age well.

I gather some of these early cap-activated Parkers could give problems, any comments on this or cleaning tips?

Do I need a matching pencil?

The parker 51 pen and ballpoint pen set in the first pictire is a post 1969 production and both pen and ballpoint are legit.

The pair in the second pictire is from 1950s and is perfectly ok too.

Only the gold capped ballpoint either belongs to Parker 51 Mark-III or a Parker 61 or a Parker 65.
