Sad indeed. Brian and Lisa are two of the nicest people in the pen community. They've said they plan to be back when this is sorted out - the sooner the better!

I've had their "ink comparison" web page bookmarked for years. It was a great resource, an invaluable and easy to use tool.  Such a shame.

Sad news. A lot of good companies have gone out of business the last couple of years. I hope they re-open somewhere else.

This is really sad news.  I had wanted to order some stuff from them recently, in the hopes that it was just their B&M store was closing, but they were sold out of so much that I couldn't put together an order big enough for the free shipping.

Saddened to hear this. My first online pen purchase was from them many years ago, and the pen is on my table, being used. 

They were a pleasure to deal with.

I followed their youtube podcasts regularly, and they clearly stated that they had every intention of making a comeback in the not too distant future. It might just take a little time. 

 

They might be down, but they are not beaten.  🙂

 

They suggested following their respective instagram accounts for updates (see their last podcast on youtube for details, or just search for them using their full names on instagram, i.e. Brian Anderson, or Lisa Anderson).

The wayback machine takes "snapshots" at wide intervals. No way it could preserve the whole thing intact in its entirety 😑

@markofp The other one that recently shut down was the Writing Desk in the UK. They are still in business under a new model which is repairs, nibs and vintage. 

 

They used to have everything and at good prices and excellent customer service. They were fantastic.

I’m not active on the socials, I was curious if there’s been any word from Brian and Lisa Anderson of Wisconsin about any future ventures?  Been missing their weekly videos, and Brian’s groan-worthy dad jokes.

I had a brief conversation with Brian and Lisa at the St Louis show (they weren't there as vendors). They said that stuff was in the works but nothing they could put out right now. I know that doesn't tell you much but it is a reason to have hope of future pen related activity from them.

Good to hear, and obviously building a new business from the ground up takes time.  They were a significant source of vintage material and repair supplies, and Brian’s Esterbrook knowledge in particular is just encyclopedic.  Would be a shame to lose them long term because of pandemic-induced financial misfortunes.

I was happy to get a newsletter from the Andersons today, and read that they are gearing up to gettting back into business! 🥳

 

They have a new YouTube channel and will be making their first podcast this Friday (15th August, 1:30 p.m. CDT) under their new enterprise name Cardinal Pens;
