Extra Fine Nib Ink Review: Stipula Calamo Musk Green (Verde Muschiato)

This is review #344 in my series. Here's the YouTube video:

Post-recording notes: This ink was gifted to me by a generous FPGeek.  The Italian name is  Verde Muschiato.  It's murky enough to make a girl swoon. :)

Dry time in test was a little under 20 minutes seconds, so I went with 9 seconds since it dried in review between 5 and 10 seconds.

Cleaning was quick and easy with plain water. You might need an extra flush due to all the dye, but it was easy.

Zoomed in photo (Color in the darker areas is undersaturated, but this is otherwise very close.)

Screenshot (Text is too dark and undersaturated; dry-time smudge is too green (should look murkier).)

Scan of Completed Review (This is the closest to what my eyes see.)

Absorbent Paper Close-up (top is puzzle paper like thick newsprint, bottom is old 20lb copy paper) (Both show splotching that the eye doesn't see. Color is wrong in both. The absorbent paper looks solid to the eye; shading is visible on copy paper. It's lovely on copy paper, even though this image doesn't reflect that.)

Line width (The "I" in "Ink:". Magnification is 100x. The grid is 100x100µm. The scale is 330µm, with eleven divisions of 30µm each. The line width for this ink is roughly 306µm. With 344 inks measured, the average line width is 298µm.)

Microscope image (100x. Haven't seen anything this cool in quite a while!)

It's so fun to see a reviewer excited about an ink. I'm assuming you have ordered your bottle? ;)

I'm assuming by 20 minutes dry time you meant 20 seconds?

I liked the paradox of the sentence "hidden in open courtyards". The whole scene has a dramatic monotony, if you get my drift. :)

The microscopic image is fascinating. I wonder if the chroma will reflect that?

Thanks for sharing your joy and pleasure in reviewing this ink. 🙏🙏🙏 (Tell Klaw, waiting makes all humans, but seasoned meditator. 😸)

As a lover of most things murky, I found that review very persuasive. Ordered! And thanks.

No. JetPens don't carry the brand, and I'm not going to pay shipping, so it will have to wait.  And I like Robert Oster Bronze more, and have a bottle of that, so I feel no rush...

Yes! Thank you!  Corrected (everywhere).

:D Thanks!  Am very glad - that was the feel I was going for (though I couldn't have given it a name, so thanks)!  (But fair warning to my poor readers - I hate this story line enough that I won't likely be taking advantage of said dramatic monotony.  Perhaps we'll come back to it in some future adventure.)

Right?  So cool!  It's been eons since we had such a cool microscope image.  I'll try a chroma later today - from the few "close" images I've seen, it won't likely be as dramatic.

I have this ink!  Woohoo!

And I like it.  Very pleasant to work with, but opening the bottle is horrendous (for me) so I decanted some.

The micro makes me think of the gray waste, yet with golden and green islands of hope.  Thanks so much, @LizEF, for the Tuesday Double of story, squeaks, and ink.

Actually, that's a trifecta. 😹 🐍  🎉

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

Does the cap just like to stick, or...?

Who knew.  The garden is hidden in the ink!

Add lightness and simplicate.

Professor Eeeness is either on top of the Alps singing Sounds of the Music on top of the Alps or in Antarctica, fleeing the heat wave, or snorkeling with Narwhals in the Arctic. :) :D

Here it be - blue-grey and bright yellow with slight brownish in between (or maybe the two are mixed in between, hard to say):

Happy Musk Celebration!  What a pity that this microscopic fireworks can only be seen by The Carpet People1🤫 :)

Thank you, @LizEF, for presenting this beautiful-murky or murky-beautiful almost green ink! After my first infection with Robert Oster Bronze (thanks LizEF! ;) ) this may be the logical successor. It seems to be more saturated, maybe the third in the row: Alt-Goldgrün - Bronze - Verde Musciato. ;) :)

Our heroes try to stay undercover. I guess, this must escalate at some time 😱 - and I hope very much, it will not happen during the next weeks ... 😳. But, yes, I will have a lot to read when coming back! ;) :)

My ink drawer is 101% full, again. I have no reason, absolutely not a trace of a reason to buy this ink! 🚫  ...

Hmm, none of my usual Italian shops have it available! 🤭

I'm free, I'm free!

I think, I have to wait ... - unknown author of the present. :)

Thank you, @LizEF! See you in September! 👍

Indeed, the heat wave is real, the escape has to wait till Friday ... :(  - but it is inevitable!

I will consider the snorkeling part ... 🐬🤿 🤭 Thanks for the hint! 👍 :)

Have a good time, @yazeh, see you in September!
