Kit-bashing a fountain pen?

Unfortunately, my Aurora Hastil has quit moving ink from the converter into the feed and onto the nib, this despite disassembly and several attempts at cleaning (advice on that would be welcome).

I've also gotten over the thinness of it, and kind of want something a little more substantial.

I could just use a Sheaffer Targa w/ a steel fine italic/calligraphy nib from a set I have, but I want a tipped nib.

I have an Esterbrook 9312 and I was wondering if it would be workable to make a section which would allow using it in a Sheaffer Targa body --- or maybe I could shift the nib from a Sheaffer Agio?

Does anyone have notes on the threads and dimensions?

Mostly thinking out loud in the above....

I suppose I pretty much need a lathe for any sort of work along these lines?
