Any info on the upcoming Asvine C80?

Your pen has two different sides. I agree with you, and expect that other examples have a more uniform type of material. Can you send it back?

A better photo of what I don't like...

I’d be unhappy with that as well, and I’m fairly tolerant of small incongruities.

Mine arrives this afternoon and I’ll be looking hard at mine.

Edited to add: it arrived and has that pale streak throughout the barrel, section, and cap. Seems to be intentional. Not sure what I think. 80/20 it goes back.

Got the C80 in Brown Gold and I’m very happy with it. Here it is with the very similar Fuliwen 017 (on the left). Same basic shape, slightly smaller, and a very similar resin. The Asvine resin is more restrained but very handsome. large.IMG_2267.jpeg.ee1fe9f2df14a454a38312460fd03914.jpeg

Does it have the pale streak?

No! Thank goodness! Did you return yours?

Someone posted a photo of their Fuliwen 017 and the C80 and their C80 was a lot more colorful, as much as the 017. But I’m quite happy with the subdued look of this pen.

I would, however, buy the blue glitter again in a minute if I could be sure there were no/minimal pale areas.

I'd guess that when the resin bodies are made, the silver glitter settles and after shaping, it appears as a silver line. I also don't care for the look. Hopefully they figure out the issue and either new colors are produced or they give this one another try.

The Purple Ripple and Galaxy Blue are my favorites and will be in my hands soon!

No, it is a cloudy transparent area.  No more glitter than on the rest of the pen, but a lack of any color.

I finally received my Galaxy Blue and Purple Ripple C80s with the 1.1 stub nib and they are writing very well from the start. Overall I like them quite a lot. They are a bit sleeker than my Jinhao 9019 and X159 and the body has a bit more substance.

I did smell the chemical scent on the Galaxy Blue pen but it's not very noticeable at all. I wonder if it is because these pens have been in demand and Asvine had to whip up new batches to keep up with the orders and they are still off-gassing. Just a thought.

I received a C80 in Green Glitter today, and love it, a bargain for £28. The huge medium nib is super smooth and juicy, whilst the glitter is bonkers when it hits the light.

Downside is I'm going to have buy my wife one as well, before she steals mine. I'll probably end up getting another one with a stub nib myself, too.

That is a good reason to have at least two copies of the😇 same pen.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
