Hi, any Pelikan demonstrator fans out there ?

Demonstrators are my favorites, the pictures shows a combination of selfmade custom demonstrators and authentic ones

Except on 100N, the line seem complete : IBIS/Rappen, 100, 400, P1, 400NN, 200, 805, 1005

Any other fans, reactions, opinions...?

Wow!  You made some of those, I'm impressed.  (Although not in the same league Admok recently released a 800-copy demonstrator. Not bad for $46.)

I only hope your 100 demonstrator will also get its transparent captop and mechanism (turning knob and mechanism section) one day soon.

Dear Stoen, sometimes people need a kick in... civilised called triggered, to do better

However I Iike the combination of original black en clear components I must admit, a demonstrator is only a demonstrator when it's a full demonstrator

Accommodating to your proposal I went to my shop and completed a half into full demonstrator, please find the result below and comment...

Only then it visualizes how exactly everything fits iogether with the narrowst clearances, quite a challenge !

Choosing 1 or 2 pictures was clearly difficult...

This is a fantastic achievement, @PENRob. It is my honor to know I have participated in your motivation process.

I am a big fan of Pelikan 100 and have in my collection almost all of them, from “bakelite” to “wartime”. To me it is a marvelous feat of engineering, design, ergonomics and serviceability.

On the other hand, it’s one of the most mistiyfied pens in the collectible items’ market.

 

Therefore I highly appreciate your efforts to build all-see-through demonatrator model 100. Only an adequate nib has to be put in, as well as adequate 12.5mm collar and feed.

Hi Stoen, glad to hear that you are fan too, reason from my side is that they were first with Penkala piston system, they are most basic, timeless about design, proven durability and as the later reproductions "icons of there times" etc...

Sad to hear that nowadays Pelikan is close to the point of death, probably not making their 100th anniversary...😪

I'm back once more as it seem I need someone like you to get driven to perfection ! 

The story behind is that I was sorting my pens and the FPN post idea popped up. The demonstrators actually were made already 2 or what years ago with available parts, not improved since then...

Once more I jumped in my shop agreeing with your nib and section observation

The initial barrel was also a one piece barrel-section unit

Enjoy the todays, I hope... final pictures ! 😁 

You may also like 100custom pens, here they are... as a thank for your attention, a white & black line !

 

PS : Take a close look in the parts picture, from the spindle you can still see the brass locking pin I had to file away and glue in the clear turning knob, recuperating the spindle from the original turning knob by turning away the back on the lath, stressy job ! 😅

Hello, @PENRob.

 

I hope Pelikan will work hard for another 5 years and commission you to produce a fountain pen for their 100th anniversary. In the past, Pelikan had a bad experience with Visconti for the production of fountain pens. This will eventually be mentioned in the Dating thread.

OMG!!!!!! That is truly magnificent! I'm quite jealous.

 

On topic, if OP means just clear demonstrators, then, no, I have none. If colored demonstrators are included, I have the Olivine, Smoky Quartz, Star Ruby and my pride and joy, the dark red.
