Extra Fine Nib Ink Review: KWZ Green #3

This is review #329 in my series. Here's the YouTube video:

Post-recording notes: This ink was gifted to me by a generous FPGeek.  It includes the well-known KWZ scent.  It's a nice, medium green without a strong yellow or blue lean until you compare it to other inks.  Cleaning was easy and fairly fast, but it will take an extra flush or two due to concentration, but nothing more than plain water.

Sorry that the video doesn't appear to be in focus on the paper - I don't know why since I did manually focus there... :/

Absorbent Paper Close-up (top is puzzle paper like thick newsprint, bottom is old 20lb copy paper) (Fairly close to what my eyes see.)

Line width (The "I" in "Ink:". Magnification is 100x. The grid is 100x100µm. The scale is 330µm, with eleven divisions of 30µm each. The line width for this ink is roughly 311µm. With 329 inks measured, the average line width is 297µm.) (Looked like there was a slight silver sheen under the microscope.)

Thanks for an excellent envenomated ( :D) review @LizEF

It seems like a nice solid green with very good qualities.

I'm intrigued where would we go with all these spells. Essri seems to be on a roll. ;)

Love that microscopic image. It's like visiting a malachite crystal up close and personal. :)

Thanks for bringing magic & mystery to a sunny chilly day 🙏🙏🙏

Yep.  Not unusual enough to land itself among my favorites, but a good green.

:)  Essri is remembering their experience on the other side of the Muirdoor. ;)

:) Yes, it's quite unique!  And that's becoming more and more rare after so many inks...

You're most welcome!  Apparently we've caught some of your winter weather virus - I thought we were done - yesterday was very warm, but it was "the warm before the storm".  It's snowing!  But I expect it will stop in a few hours and melt itself away in a day or two.

Typical of March, though it's becoming quite rare here. March storms were a must. Now it's a rarity.  Most people are happy. I'm not sure I am.  But such is life. If life becomes unlivable we can transport ourselves to Muirdoor.  :D

If Smoke is greeneyed he can participate in ink reviewing 😊

Great review, Liz! Ooh, the friends sound like they’re getting their characters set up for a  D&D campaign (or I guess D&D players imitate stories). It will be neat to see what everyone ends up with.  What a nice green! I like it when certain color inks like green and red really hit that crayon color. The slide looks like freshwater springs surrounded by swamp to me (FLA woman).

Faith an' begorrah!  I'm assumin' the banshee groans an' moans relate to the micro, which exactly emulates the creatures in an extremely baaaaad monster movie we saw yesterday, Brain Eaters.

This is a very very very nice green in color and behavior.  I would like it but for the scent.  I did have the Thornton green long ago.  As I still have Montblanc Irish and Monteverde Yosemite, I shall pass on this.

'Envenomed?'

'I'm a snek.'

Love this!  Go, Heroes!

@LizEF, you make Tuesdays magical and fun... I always look forward to the review and story.   Keep it up please

(Bit off-stride today due to monsters in the yard not five minutes ago.  Film to come?)

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

Smoke's eyes are golden, like Klaw's. :) I'm sure I'll be reviewing another grey eventually, and perhaps a golden color...

I prefer my greens murky or otherwise non-Crayon, but I'm with you on the reds - a nice bright red red is always satisfying.

:)  It's fun how our brains look for patterns and something familiar when we see abstract images.  It does look rather "lake and forest" to me (like from an aerial photo).

 Green Brain Eaters?  From the swamp?  After Irish brains? ;)

If one is going to have a green green, this would be a good one, but I don't think you need more than one of them.

Love this!  Go, Heroes!

  At some point, I learned the difference between poison and venom. So when this scene came up, I was like, well, if you get bitten by a venomous creature, you aren't getting poisoned, so what do you call it?  Google's AI informed me it was "envenomated" - which really didn't sound like it fit the story, but then I realized, sneks would of course know all the words associated with venom, so it was perfectly natural for Essri to know and use this word that's almost as long as a full grown snek! :D  (And now I've learned that "envenom" is what you do to a thing (like a blade) when you want it to be poison someone, whereas "envenomate" is what a venomous creature does to its victim. :) )  Hooray for highly educational stories!  I should sell our adventures to elementary schools.

Oooh, too late for the envenomated exercise! 😕 AI seems to develop entertainment qualities. ;) :)

Thank you, @LizEF, for the ink review done in an enelevated handwriting (!), for the story part and for the blue firework in microscopic scale!

The ink reveals its blue base in the microscopy image. I learned not long ago, that visual perception of the colour green is something individual. Even among family members the opinions are not congruent. For me, this KWZ Green is clearly a Snek Green, no doubt! ;) :)

And, I learned today, that collecting spells is not much different from collecting inks. "Yes, I have this type already, but not this special variety of the type ..."

7 more night to sleep until next magical story!

One life!

:) Just be glad you were the demonstration victim.  "Pay attention, class, to what happens when our victim is envenomated." :yikes:

Makes you wonder how long it took for people to figure out that one person's eye-brain combo renders a color differently from another person's eye-brain combo. :)

 It only makes sense for wizards and sorcerers to collect spells, enchantments, potions, etc.

Thanks for the info (I only used B&W film and learned to process that).   Boy -- the stuff I learn here!  Just continually astounded at the depth and breadth of knowledge in this community! Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

It just wasn't likely to have been Kodachrome.  It would have been the films I referred to as "other color films." (Kodachrome is not a generic term for color film. It is a specific film that produces transparencies, or slides, by a process not used for any other film. There are other color trans

@Ceilidh -- Well, I knew people who were photography majors in college, and I'm pretty sure that at least some of them were doing photos in color, not just B&W like I learned to process.  Whether they were doing the processing of the film themselves in one of the darkrooms, or sending their stuff out to be processed commercially?  That I don't actually know, but had always assumed that they were processing their own film. Kodachrome 25 was the most accurate film for clinical photography and was used by dermatologists everywhere. I got magnificent results with a Nikon F2 and a MicroNikkor 60 mm lens, using a manually calibrated small flash on a bracket. I wish there were a filter called "Kodachrome 25 color balance" on my iPhone camera.
