Kaweco Classic Sport Piston Filler or TWSBI Diamond Mini?

I am trying to make up my mind between these two pens. What do you think? Pros? Cons?

I already know I love the TWSBI Diamond 580 (I have two). The Kaweco is an unknown entity. I heard they often need nib tuning on the regular Classic Sport, but I have not heard that on the new piston filler.

I have both plastic- and aluminium-bodied piston Sports, as well as a Diamond 580. The Sports have F and EF nibs, and both wrote smoothly and reliably after an initial flush. Of the three pens I much prefer the Sport Classic for its light weight and feel in the hand, and if I were in your shoes then that's the one I'd choose - especially as you already own a couple of 580s.

Thanks. I do own the 580's but I don't own the Mini. However, you may be right. I am leaning heavily in the direction of the piston Sport Classic as I don't own a Kaweco. If it were brass it would be a done deal. But, yeah, that light weight is a plus, too.

One thing to note about the Kaweco piston fillers is that they don't work the way the TWSBIs do. The piston knob is under a removable blind cap. You have to unscrew the blind cap to access the knob for filling.

The nib issues are pretty much the same as other Kawecos because they're all from the same company (Bock). Lately I've been having good luck with them. The piston pens don't use the same nib units and the cartridge converter Kawecos

The Diamond mini is very similar to the 580, just smaller and will be familiar since you have the 580.

Overall they're all solid choices.

Stolen: Aurora Optima Demonstrator Red ends Medium nib. Serial number 1216 and Aurora 98 Cartridge/Converter Black bark finish (Archivi Storici) with gold cap. Reward if found. Please contact me if you have seen these pens.

I have "nicer" pens, some with steel, some with gold nibs, but, I write with a light hand and don't get a lot of benefit from gold nib flex. I need pens that write the first time, everytime, with no skipping.Right now I am taking notes in a meeting with an orange Delta Spaccanapoli. It is a really nicely balanced and smooth writing pen. However, except for looks, it doesn't do anything my TWSBIs or Lamys don't do. it does feel good in the hand, though.

I have looked at the Kaweco pens, but the converter is so tiny that I did not bother. I like piston fillers and now that they have one, I got interested in them.
