A Feed for a No. 4 Eternal

Recommended Posts

I have a Swan L442E/52 and the feed is damaged and I am wanting to replace it. I have looked everywhere but cannot find one. Recently there were 3 listings on ebay of lots of feeds and sections and I thought of bidding on them but...

I am hoping someone on here might be able to point me in the right direction for a feed. Mine has "SWAN" L marked on it but would I be correct in assuming any feed for a No.4 nib would work? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

You will find them all slightly different.  Sometimes slightly loose, and sometimes slightly tight.  Heating the section and the feed might help if the fit is too loose, as then can get compressed over the years and heat can restore the shape.  If too tight, you can fit it while hot and the hard rubber can stretch a little, or you can use a needle file very cautiously to file out a little internal material all the way around the inside.

Thanks @Greenie. The issues are noot that the feed and nib are loose, but that the feed has been damaged, snapped, and then repaired. The ink channel isn't properly aligned and the very thin channels are full of what was used to "glue" it together again. The pen does work but not as well as I would like and I have put it down to this so I would like to see if an undamaged feed helps.

What I meant is that any feed from an Eternal 4 will work, but they are not always a perfect fit.

Thanks again for that. Are the feeds for the eternals different to the non-eternal feeds?

That is a great question. I really don't know the answer. The Eternal nibs are thicker than the standard nibs, so it is possible that the feeds are slightly different. But I do not truly know.
