Dark Green or Green/Black Ink recommendations

I'm looking for an ink which is a very dark / saturated green for writing, verging toward black.

Ideally one which will show well in an <F> or even <EF> nib. (i.e show the greens element not just show as black)

 

Something that retains a nice wet look would be very nice.

 

It would also be nice to know if recommended inks are water resistant or not.

 

 

As an idea from what I've seen online - always hard to judge these observations may help....

I'm not looking for anything in the brown/autumnal spectrum.

Diamine Sherwood Green might be a touch light.

Diamine Delamere Green is nice but also might be a touch light.

Colour wise, though perhaps not shade wise, the Mont Blanc Irish Green looks good. (but I'd rather pay Diamine prices than Mont Blanc prices LOL ) and that looks very similar to the Iroshizuku shin-ryoku

Diamine 'Cult Pens' range deep dark green possibly. Unsure if still available though.

 

Possibly the closest I THINK might be suitable so far is the Monteverde Jade Noir.

 

I've also heard of Robert Oster 'Green at Night' but haven't found much about it.

Why the doubt, when one can just check for oneself with a few taps on the keyboard?

 

I have most, if not all, of the inks you mentioned; but I don't see what Platinum Classic Ink Forest Green Black and KWZ Ink IG Green #3, etc. would not be there.

 

Of course, there are also inks that are literally named Dark Green or Green/Black, so I'm surprised you haven't considered them either.

I didn't realise it was a shop specific line I thought it was available more broadly so didn't see it at my usual shop ....

(and postage from cult pens is a bit $ to Aus for small orders)

 

Most of the ones I've seen labelled green/black aren't really that... or aren't really what I'm looking for.

 

 

Platinum Classic Ink Forest Green - I don't see that - do you mean Forest Black (because definitely not what I'm looking for) (too yellowy/brown)

The KWZ Ink IG Green #3 has similar yellow/brown look to me, so probably not BUT it's an ink brand I'd never considered before and reading about it their inks do sound very good.

Sorry, yes. All of Platinum's iron-gall inks are named ‹something› Black, irrespective of whether they're in the Classic Ink product line or not.

Diamine Dark Forest, Holly, or Green Black are all dark, rich greens.  If you want water resistance, I’d also check out KWZI IG Greens 4-5 shades here).

If you need water resistance: 

You can try: Kala Scapolite... Kala inks are made in Taiwan, so they might be available in your neck of the woods These are pigment inks, which are partially waterproof 

Noodler's Zhivago is another dark green black. The price is not Diamine's though

Another brand to consider is Octopus Write & Draw. They are sold in Australia as far as I know. These are waterproof /lightproof inks.

I have been binging on YouTube Green Ink videos overnight and the following all seem likely suspects.

I'd be interested in comments on pros/cons of these inks from anyone who has used them.

@LandyVlad I would recommend ordering samples, if you can. Think of it as an investment, instead of being stuck with too many bottles. If you can't find any in OZ, fountainfeder might have a good prices. 

 

As for inks pro and cons. one person's cons, might be someone else is pro. And then there are other factors of pen/paper and "mood", lighting, etc. We can see it with many product reviews. I have bought other people hate, and they are suitable/ perfect for me and vice versa. Good hunting

@yazeh yes, thanks.  It's not a very $/ml good value way of buying ink but if it saves buying multipole larger bottles, fair enough.   There are a number of places locally I can get samples of at least some of those inks. I don't think it's possible to get samples of the more "exclusive" (overpriced  )  inks like MB though.

Not the colour you want  unless you get cartridges.  They are about 13 Aus $

My vote for Diamine Green Black and Racing Green (if still to buy somewhere).

Dark Forest is nice if you like it more blueish.

   Wait, you’re not in Australia? Domestic free shipping has a lower threshold of $99, maybe not worth it if it’s the only thing you want, but if there’s a pen you like that is over the threshold, then it’s a small add on. I found my bottle for $6.99 US on Amazon, but it may be cheaper on Aliexpress or Taobao if you use either of those.

That's their threshold for international shipping. Domestic is $99.

Diamine's Green/Black, Cult Pens Deep Dark Green (made by Diamine). Both already mentioned above... just my own recommendation....
