Black inks are often underrated - put them next to one another, and all the subtle differences become obvious. Most black inks have undertones that make them interesting, and that introduce character when writing with them. I’ve seen purple, red, green, blue undertones that add to the aesthetics.

Yes! (Well, to the second part.)  Though you need a broader nib than a Japanese EF to see it in the writing (which is convenient for me as I only have to adjust the whiteness of the page and the color of the swatch - everything else can just sit there and look black ).

I'm not sure I've seen green but yes to all the rest.  This one's color was particularly strong, so that I didn't need to compare it before I could see the purple - it was obvious as soon as the swatch was done.
