:) Thanks!  And yes, that sounds like a lovely idea.  Maybe with occasional hot chocolate. ;)

I'm so sorry to hear that. But boy I get it. This year, I want to crawl in a cave and wake up mid January :D

SMOKE: Hey, she might do another photo shoot.

Klaw yawns and starts licking himself.

SMOKE: it'll give me a chance to slink in the room and do an "ink review" myself and maybe play with the Carene.

Klaw: You must be out of your mind.

Smoke: She loves me.

Klaw: Not that much. She might have you exchanged.

Smoke: No way.

Klaw: I've heard that happens to bad cats.

Smoke: I ain't bad mister. I'm cute, cuddly and lovable.

Klaw: That remains to be seen.

Smoke: But I need to get into that room.

Klaw: If you go into that room, you might fall on Makhabesh.

Smoke: What now?

Klaw: He's like us,  but bigger and has got wings.

Smoke: you're lying.

Klaw: I hear them wings flapping all the time.

Smoke curls in the ball. Life ain't no fair.

Klaw: Isn't.

Smoke: Whatever. ...

I think I'm a bit delirious :D

This season is killing me - not sure why this year is worse than last, but it is.

Thanks to @InesF & Chatgpt:

"I am to be, grant me the request, the third in your union."

This poetic line is from Friedrich Schiller's play "Maria Stuart" and is spoken by Queen Elizabeth I. It expresses her desire to metaphorically join or align herself as a third party in a relationship or connection between two others. The elevated and poetic tone reflects her plea for inclusion or recognition. 🙏

Lovely cameo of the cat people!

Black inks are often underrated - put them next to one another, and all the subtle differences become obvious. Most black inks have undertones that make them interesting, and that introduce character when writing with them. I’ve seen purple, red, green, blue undertones that add to the aesthetics.

Yes! (Well, to the second part.)  Though you need a broader nib than a Japanese EF to see it in the writing (which is convenient for me as I only have to adjust the whiteness of the page and the color of the swatch - everything else can just sit there and look black :D ).

I'm not sure I've seen green but yes to all the rest.  This one's color was particularly strong, so that I didn't need to compare it before I could see the purple - it was obvious as soon as the swatch was done.

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.
    • Ceilidh
Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
