Delta Spaccanapoli ?

Does anyone have experience with this pen? Goulet pens says that the barrel and cap are turned out of solid rods of resin (like my favorite shaving brushes). They aren't cast. I found they have Jowo nibs. I'm not sure of the size, but I think a #6. I wonder how well balanced they are and how well they write, and the overall quality. Delta went out of business a few years ago and now they are back. What do you all think?

Well, I couldn't resist. I went to the shop and after comparing it to a number of other pens, I walked out with one that had a medium nib. The section is larger than many other fountain pens and I found it very comfortable, and of course the Jowo #6 nib is as smooth as it can be. I got the orange. I'll post a picture, later.

Which colour did you get? These seem to be good alternatives to Leonardo's.

I got this orange to do something different than my usual choices. Those white flecks are actually shining particles like from an oyster shell and they sparkle as you rotate the pen.

There are at least four color schemes and a fifth one that is a Goulet exclusive.

That is a pretty one. I am actually thinking about the red(ish) with some white and grey pattern. I will wait for your impressions. 😉Screenshot_20240513-183842.thumb.png.979862cb8b3168dd967b43246646a009.png

I looked at the reds and blues and liked them. I have too many reds and blues, so I got the orange crush looking version.

These pens really write well, and the fact that the grip section is a little larger than average means that for me, the pen is very comfortable. That might have been what won me over. I had five pens I was testing at the shop and I liked all of them, but I walked out with the Delta.

Is it comparable to the size of Leonardo Momento Zero? I, too, like bigger grip section so I reckon I will like the size of this pen.

I don't know. It isn't as big as a Jinhao 9019 (huge) but is larger than a TWSBI Diamond 580. In other words, it isn't so large for me that it is unwieldy, but it is large enough to be very comfortable.

To put this in perspective, I went with the intention of buying either a Diplomat Aero (the Delta is larger), or a Pilot Capless (close but maybe the Delta is very slightly larger). I bought the Delta.

Thanks for the comparison/references. I have an idea of the size now.

Here is a picture I got from Pen Gallery. It shows the current colors, the orange, a sort of tortoise shell brown with flecks, red with a few stripes and flecks, a swirl red with gray and black (maybe blue), a dark blue with flecks, and a matte black.

@lukeap69 Yes, it is a beautiful building on that street. That is a gorgeous pen and tempted me sorely.

I am looking forward to your thoughts on your new pen.

I can't wait. I think it will take few weeks to arrive where I am.

One thing I forgot to mention is the nib. The Jowo nib actually has a little flex and bounce, which was a nice surprise. I write with a light hand and still the nib flexes a bit.

As per the seller, they just placed their order when I placed my order so I missed the latest shipment. They will receive my pen by next week. Then few days travel to me.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
