:yikes:

Is that from the reboot line of PR inks?  (Now trying to remember how long it's been since I've used any of my bottles or samples of PR...).

I have the original release and it's still OK.  This is from 2022.

I have it in a Lamy 2K<OM> and a Pelikan M800<M>.  I haven't done anything about it yet....

You got me started on them, with the outline ink search. I have loved them so far. They’re my favorite Amazon impulse purchase.

I don't remember in which thread you recommended Colorverse Fountain Pen Day ink but a bunch of INK samples arrived today and that ink was among them.

The way I test the inks is to use a "Dry" nib and a "Wet" nib for each ink.  That lets me see the ink in two saturations.

The Dry Long Blade nib looked like this:

OK very nice color....

But the Wet Pilot nib gave me this:

IT'S AN OUTLINE INK  !

Been using Tomoe River-S paper

I just started using Sailor #973.  It looks like it has some silver sheen.

Can you see the sheen looking straight down, with out the flash?

I've some 'sheen' inks that I have to tilt.

It picks up a silvery tone when tilted, but it's not a sheener like Jack Frost, you decide....

This is what it looks like to the cellphone camera when held directly above the writing:

I've had my King Jim Laseno notebook with me the past few weeks.  Here's an example of R&K Salix on King Jim paper using my blue Lamy Safari in Fine.  I think I got that pen back in the late Eighties... dependable!

Nice! I love that paper, by the way. I’m almost done adding filling a test page. It’s all flex/italic/stub nibs.

The King Jim. I was also clueless until @Mechanical sent me some.

King Jim is mostly a stationery company that sells organizers, filing systems, and such.  I don't really know who makes their paper, but we started getting their Laseno Notebooks... maybe just this year?

*I just saw this, so excuse my late reply.*

This ink is fabulous. The base color is beautiful, and I would love to find it plain. I know that many DeAtramentis colors are very similar, so I really just need to contact them and see if they have something close.

I advise you to read through some reviews of Salix.

I the stuff, but you need to know that it is an iron-gall ink, so it doesn't remain that shade of blue for long, but instead 'cures' to a blue-grey colour.

Its 'USP' is that it is the i-g ink that remains bluest on the page after fully 'curing'.

Here ↓ ...

...is the review that first piqued my interest in Salix, but there are several good reviews of it on FPN.

Thank you for the Sandy1 restorations. 👍😀  Good Job.

I'm not well versed on IG inks.  What else can you add about Salix?

The only ones I have are these:

In terms of its properties, I would say that it has decent water-resistance, but its low iron-content means that it isn't very light-fast.

It won't fade inside a notebook or anything, but it's not an ink that I would use e.g. to write labels on noticeboards, or underneath small exhibits in a museum.
'Heavy' iron-gall inks (such as ESSRI, or Diamine Registrars' Ink) would be better for that use-case, and pigment-based inks (such as Sailor Kiwa Guro or Platinum Carbon Black) would be better still.

My experience of Salix is that it looks darker when dispensed from 'wetter' pens - but is never as dark as e.g. 4001 Blue-Black from the same pen.
I have also found that (like most iron-gall inks) it always retains its capacity to produce fine lines and resist feathering, except on the very-'pulpiest' kinds of inexpensive paper.

I find the shading that it gives to be really lovely, and concur whole-heartedly with what Sandy1 said about it.

I use it in my aerometric Parker "51"s, which don't like inks that have more i-g in them, but work (in damp and low-lying England at least) beautifully with Salix.

:)
