Obviously it would be a good ‘fit’ for Edelstein Mandarin, but if I had one I’d be minded to run some Edelstein Olivine through it.

Or even some 4001 Brilliant Black/Edelstein Onyx.
I only use black ink very rarely, but that pen could actually get me using it again!

Further to my recent post on this, I managed to visit a brick and mortar shop while on holiday in Italy and inspected the new Pelikan orange. I have to confess that I was slightly disappointed by its rather plastic look (even though I know it is made of high grade resin and not plastic). The pen is obviously well built and has a smooth piston mechanism but the overall impression is of a rather gaudy pen, with slightly 'aggressive' colouring.

 

I think I shall wait to see how the 2024 ink of the year  (Golden Lapis) matching M200 will look before buying yet another small Pelikan.  This one really did not look compelling.

Lovely IB nib Tom, I got the B with Fritz Schimpf italic grind. The pen goes really well with their sundowner ink, I was fortunate enough to get a free sample and it went quickly.

Amazon retails this pen and it is worth keeping an eye out for on sales. I very recently ordered it when the price dropped to AUD$194. That is equivalent to approx USD$128 and 110 euros (rounded up). Of course, Fountain Pen day is coming up on November 7 and good deals may be had then as well.
 

When the pen arrives, I plan to ink alternately it up with the 2025 ink of the year Apricot Achat and the LA Pen show Coral ink. I was initially tossing up between purchasing the matching M200 Apricot Achat or the M200 Orange Delight — both are gorgeous. I ended up chosing the Orange Delight for the 70s aesthetic.
