Appelboom Pennen closing Boston store

Appelboom had purchased the Bromfield shop, Boston's only major fountain pen store. Now Boston has none. Levenger was once in the Prudential Center, but that closed a few years ago. And so it goes.

They do mention some stores that have some pens, inks and stationary.

Of course, the standard is Bob Slate in Harvard Square. I haven't been there in ages, but it is a stationary store and has a good selection of paper and notebooks, and also has some inks and some fountain pens, but mainly is good for paper. It always has Clairefontaine (my favorite) and Rhodia among others. In the past it did not have much of a selection of fountain pens, but perhaps that has improved in recent years (I'm so old that a decade counts as recent years).

 

They mention Boston General Store with locations in Brookline and Dedham. From their website, they seem to have some fountain pens and inks (apparently Kaweco) and some Japanese notebooks. https://www.bostongeneralstore.com/collections/writing-utinsels

 

They mentioned a store in Newton that has some pens but I didn't catch the name.

 

There are art supply stores around that would have a small selection of dip pen nibs and drawing inks.
