Interchangeability of Monegrappa Nibs and Feeds? Jowo v.s. Bock?

I recently purchased a few Montegrappa with ebonite feeds (The Dutchess and Chatterley Luxuries' MG5) during the holiday sales. What I found out is that the nibs on these pens are more rounded (I don't know the exact term to describe the shape of the nibs. It looks like the MG5 nibs have a higher arch than the regular Jowo nibs). I originally ordered Stub and Flex nibswhich are made by Jowo I believe, to come with the pens, and  find out that the nibs do not fit the ebonite feeds of Montegrappa. The Jowo nibs are flatter. When fit to the ebonite feeds, the tines tend to sprung and will not touch each other. On the other hand, the Stipula gold nibs, which made by Bock, fit perfectly on the Montegrappa ebonite feeds, which made me to wonder -- if some of the Montegrappa nibs are made by Bock? The take-away is that Montegrappa nibs and feeds are not interchangeable. Any insights are highly appreciated.

In my experience, Montegrappa pens are compatible with Jowo feeds and nibs.  Your pictures show only that you need to heat set the feed to the new nib.  Boil a cup of water, and dip the feed with nib into it for about 30 seconds. (Don't immerse the section).  The heat should soften up the feed enough to allow the spring pressure from the metal of the nib to push it into the correct position automatically.

I'm not familiar with Montegrappa.

The photos show that the nib is not centred on the feed.  This is putting uneven pressure on the tines.  You may find that this also causes one tine to be higher off the feed than the other.

When seen from the top side the feed channel should be centred in the breather hole.

Add lightness and simplicate.

No this was not the issue. It was not possible to center the nib on the feed due to the incompatibility. I have made the exchanges and the original MG5 nibs will fit perfectly. I assume Montegrappa just use different nibs on their ebonite feeds.

Most do. That’s why I was a bit surprised to find out the incompatibility. Heat reset May solve the problem but I did not try it.
